My family and I stopped by 1776 for lunch to avoid the chain restaurants we can visit anywhere. This restaurant has an intimate atmosphere with fascinating colonial era prints and actual artifacts. Each of us ordered the Lobster and Seafood Bisque which was rich and flavorful. We also enjoyed seafood dishes such as shrimp salad and steamed little neck clams (cherrystone) in a rich garlic and buttery broth. Servers were attentive and efficient. Great place for lunch.
