“Great place to take a walk. Watch out for the seagulls.”
Reviewed April 13, 2012

I go down & walk on RB boardwalk many times a year. One complete round trip is 1 mile. I like to go down and walk enjoying listening to the waves and seeing the water. July & August it is usually too crowded to walk comfortably. There are benches so you can sit and watch the waves. However, don't eat while sitting there. The seagulls have become so used to visitors feeding them that they think they have a right to your food. The will fly in and take it out of your hand while you are trying to put it in your mouth. So they are thieves who will steal your food and not wait to be given it. Sometimes I get coffee now but they will come and look at you for food. It ruins my boardwalk time having them there and it is very difficult to get rid of them. The kids enjoy throwing fries up into the air and have the gulls catch them.

“Bring a lot of quarters to park”
Reviewed April 10, 2012

Bring a crapload of quarters to park, or you're never going to find a place and then get a ticket. The beach is very croweded, and was rather hard to get to the water without having to step over the beach whales all over the place. Typical boardwalk shops, and far fewer than Ocean City, but then again, at least you can GET to the beach without much of a problem and walk all the shops easily. Restaurants on the main roads are busy and pricey. Get off the main drag to get a chance at a seat without a wait during the lunch rush. Overall a good experience, but I preferred the quieter Bethany Beach over this. Just came back from the Outer Banks and that was even better, though more spread out.

“Delaware's Only Real Boardwalk”
Reviewed April 5, 2012

I'm from Delaware, born and raised, and I love going to Rehoboth. First thing to know, is that it's (like most beaches) crowded on the weekends. There are shops and hotels all along the boardwalk, but the best part has to be the food places. If you've never been to a Delaware beach, just note that Rehoboth is the most touristy beach we have, but worth checking out with your family. Go to Grattos Pizza while you are there (it's where the locals eat), Also, try Go Fish (a cool little British restaurant). Another thing to keep in mind is that Rehoboth is great for families most of the time, but not so much on Friday and Saturday nights...because Rehoboth is considered the "San Francisco" of the east. There is a large gay community there and they party hard on weekend nights (so that night not be so kid friendly). Otherwise, if you go. Enjoy your time there, and make sure to step off of the boardwalk and down a few side streets, because there are a lot of nice big houses to check out and cool little shops to explore off the beaten path. Happy Travels!

“New boardwalk, lots of benches”
Reviewed April 5, 2012

But not too many shops on the boardwalk. However, there were many on the main street one block away from our hotel.

Have been going here for decades; from before we had kids to now with our married children. Great family-friendly place that offers something for everyone; from casual "grab some Beach Fries" to elegant dining; all kinds of stores; and of course Funland w/ its games and rides. And of course there is the beach. The only problem sometimes is parking on weekends during prime time, and the rates have gone up. Didn't have the correct category for who I went with: Family consisting of grown children and spouses.
