“The place to stay in Rehoboth Beach”

Classic lobby, first class accommodations, ample free parking, and a very short walk to the Avenue.

The Bellmoor Inn has a variety of room styles, and all seem to be clean, quiet, and well appointed. There are several comfortable lounge areas, and quiet places to talk with friends, work, or just relax. The garden, with fish ponds and beautiful trees and flowers, is the perfect nice weather spot, particularly for afternoon tea.

The breakfasts are very nice, and the weekend fare includes eggs to order by a local chef, and the "sticky buns" are out of this world!

Every member of the staff is friendly, courteous, and very efficient.
We will be returning!

I've stayed at this hotel twice in the past year, and while I didn't go during the summer season because of the large beach crowds, I thoroughly enjoyed the boutique nature of the Bellmoor, its solid array of services, and it's ever-helpful front desk staff.

In the fall and winter, the hotel has a slower pace - just perfect for a mid week excursion for a retired couple of someone with a few days off from work. You can use their spa tub facilities and they have a nice little workout room in case the nearby boardwalk is a little chilly for your tastes. They also have a full service spa. I had a terrific massage there last year and a friend had a mani-pedi as well and raved about it. What's nice is that you can walk there in a robe from your room - always a great convenience for a spa weekend. My two friends and I had a great "girl's retreat" there which we fashioned by walking to fine eating establishments in town and sampling the local shopping.

I stayed for the Thanksgiving Day weekend (2010) as well as a weekend in April (2011) and found the front desk staff to be very accomodating, with early checkins and generally helpful advice. What was truly enjoyable during those trips was the open areas of the hotel - rooms to work on puzzles near fireplaces, or to bring your own bottle of Champaign and drink a toast before you go out to dinner someplace. There was coffee all day and night, as well as tea and hot cocoa, so you could grab a cup and sit in the breakfast room and talk to friends, or bring a snack or even a take-out dinner and sit there. In the afternoon, they have a formalized tea with cookies, a very nice touch.

Their morning breakfast is wonderful, and when I was there, it was catered from Porcini's across the street, so it was high quality and enjoyable. There were omlettes - regular and egg white - to order, as well as any type of egg dish cooked to order, and a hot buffet line with breakfast meat, bread for toasting, muffins, and various treats. One morning, we brough a bottle of bubbly and poured some mimosas - although I'm not sure if that's within the rules - it made for an especially enjoyable brunch.

I recommend this hotel over all of the other hotels in Rehoboth. It is more expensive than most but the accomodations and atmosphere are superior. I will be returning again this fall and in the winter, and I look forward to my stays.

Room Tip: stay in the main area of the hotel if you are using the spa services, and avoid the outside rooms du...

Like others, we really loved the spaces at the Bellmoor, found the food to be exceptional, and the location perfect. With easy walking distances to the beach, we just left our car parked in one of the free spaces.

But the customer service was, at best, uneven. The first night I tried to get into the hot tub, and was told it was closed. I'd forgotten to change my devices time, and thought it was 10:30. It was 11:30. The next night I went well before closing and it was locked again. The desk attendant who escorted me upstairs said that he would leave it open after 11 because people get back late from dinner. Why didn't the first desk attendant the night before offer to let me into the hot tub, then? Does it close at 11 or not?

At other times, we were told one thing about wifi and then told other things. Yes, it was available in our room. No it wasn't. Yes it was. No, it wasn't. Turns out it's not available in the "garden" rooms but everywhere else, including in the lovely garden.

But when we checked in, we were minutes late for the afternoon snack, and the bellman went and got a plate of treats for us.

If the customer service had been more consistently like the bellman's, we would have rated the Bellmoor a 5, Excellent.

Room Tip: We liked the less expensive garden rooms, but they don't have wi-fi in the rooms. But step just...

We spent a week at Bellmoor in September for our anniversary. The choice was sentimental since my husband had memories of the old Dinner Bell Inn from his childhood summers in Rehoboth Beach. We chose a Garden Room queen, which is on the ground floor and opens to the garden area. It was quite nice to have the entire garden just steps away from our room with all the fountains, trees, birds, and flowers. The main hotel was directly across the garden. The public spaces of the hotel are comfortable and inviting. The breakfast room was lovely as was the library. I even borrowed a book from the library to take to the beach. The breakfast was a variety of hot foods, breads, cereals, pastries, and the best fresh fruit I have had lately. Coffee and tea were available 'round the clock. It was nice to sip hot tea in the garden in the evenings. The room was small, but not cramped. It was clean, comfortable, and had a cozy feel with the quilt on the bed--a beach cottage feel. There was a small refigerator in the room which was nice for keeping drinks. The hotel has 2 pools. We used the one on the 2nd floor, along with the hot tub. Both were nicely maintained with plenty of pool towels handy. The hotel provides parking which is valuable in the summer months. The hotel is 3 tenths of a mile from the boardwalk and is also convenient to shops and restuarants. It was very peaceful there in September. For the garden rooms the price was reasonable--for Rehoboth Beach! I liked the charm of the older syle garden rooms so I was happy with it. I would stay there again.

Spent a 3 day weekend here with my Mom before I moved overseas for a year and it was simply fabulous! From the moment we arrived with underground parking readily availble, to the check-in service, to the beautifully appointed rooms (we stayed in the Newbold Suite), to the help from the front desk, nothing could have been better. Great location, walking distance to a ton of restaurants and of course, to the beach! Planning on another visit when I move back to the US next year!

Stayed at and reviewed the Bellmoor Inn and Spa in 2006 and have been back several time since then, and all those good things I saw, experienced, and wrote about then still remain; great service, spacious, well-appointed rooms with comfortable beds, flat screen TVs, and tub/shower combinations (with very good water pressure), lush courtyard garden with many places to sit and eat breakfast, have tea or read, two heated pools, a full service spa, easy, several block walk to the beach and many downtown restaurants and shops, elegant atmosphere, and a very extensive and tasty included breakfast and afternoon tea.

Not a busy, "happenin" place, a huge hotel, nor the cheapest place to stay in Rehoboth but then, you get what you pay for, and you do get quiet and quality for your money here.

Sit in the enclosed porch, or outside in the quiet, dappled shade of the courtyard garden, or by one of the pools, and have breakfast or read a book, and the outside world seems to fade away.

This was our first visit to Rehoboth and staying at the Bellmoor from Trip Advisor comments. We stayed in the Garden area which was very nice. The inner gardens and courtyards are gems. Internet service needs to be improved however for the garden rooms. i realize that these rooms are the less expensive ones but there is no excuse that improved wireless could be made available for these.
