Our interpretation is to not get in the way of the food, let the ingredients speak for themselves. We mix this altogether with a nice selection of handcrafted cocktails (a must these days), craft brews, and wines, throw it all together in a relaxed beach cottage atmosphere, and try our best to provide you with the friendliest service we know how. Been to Shorebreak Lodge twice now and am sure it's destined to become an institution in this town. The food is innovative, delicious, and fresh. Service is friendly and attentive. And the decor is perfect for a beach setting.

This is one of the rare locations in Rehoboth that take reservations. Consider making them before you leave home, it will be worth it.

There were 6 of us and we were seated in the front room, where it was very clean and the atmosphere was very pleasant. It was too cool for outside seating, so I cannot comment on that.

Each one of us enjoyed our food. The menu changes daily and there seemed to be something for everyone. The local 'tog (fish) was well-received, as was the LaFrieda burger (using Pat LaFrieda meat!) which included pimento cheese and a spicy tomato jam. I loved the burger. The sides of vegetables are a la carte, however, one can be shared by two. We enjoyed even the simpler ones, such as peas and onions and carrots and fennel. The side of mashed potatoes was only average. The smoked trout bruschetta was terrific.

The beer list was nice and the cocktails were well-made (dark and stormy and a grapefruit cocktail were both a hit).

This is not the place to come to straight from the beach. The atmosphere is more like nicer casual; not shorts.

Rehoboth has kept ShoreBreak Lodge a secret for long enough. After our most recent visit the truth must be told. SBL is an incredible culinary experience in a casual environment without the pretense and stuffiness often accompanying those haughty and often expensive venues.

Nestled at the end of Wilmington Ave near the boardwalk, the location is not the easiest to find which adds to the overall adventure.

Our fare tonight consisted of all small plates.

Edamame hummus with flat bread, toasted French bread slices, pepperoncini, caper berry, crispy kale and arugula was our fantastic first plate. This hummus plate is not from the same planet as your standard dip & chip.

Second plate was smoked trout combined with fresh herbs and tomato served bruschetta style over toasted French bread slices. If you are a fish lover, this one is a keeper.

Along with the second plate we shared a bowl of Monkfish clam chowdah. Rich clam broth filled with lots of baby clams and modest chunks of monkfish with just the right saltiness and a minimal amount of cream to give a hint of richness.

Last up was a 9 minute duck egg served over fried pork belly, crispy kale, and seared cherries. While not for everyone at the table, those with an adventuresome palate will keep this one to themselves.

Our adjacent dining companion marveled at her dinner portion Surf n Turf which consisted of braised short ribs, seared day boat scallops, risotto and pepita pesto. Another winner.

The menu at ShoreBreak is continually changing and reflects seasonal freshness and unique meat, fish, shellfish and vegetable availabilities.

The bar keeps pace by serving up specialty drinks which feature seasonal berries, herbs and veggies as well as a nice selection of nicely paired craft draft beers, modest well-selected wines and the standard distilled libations
.
If you want friendly, attentive service and great, somewhat eclectic tasty food in a casual environment then ShoreBreak Lodge is the place for you in downtown Rehoboth.

Everything was enjoyable the minute we walked in. Ambiance, the friendly staff, and great food. I dined with friends and everyone loved the Mussels, Clams, Risotto and all that we had. and reasonably priced too! We will return here.
