Description: WE ARE OPEN FOR 2017 Just 133 steps to the Atlantic...Blurring the boundary between a night in with friends, and an evening on the town, coastal gastropub cuisine, eclectic wine, handcrafted cocktails, cool beers, laid back livin'. We are locally owned and operated establishment. We start with what we call our kitchens mantra from Julia Child; "You don't have to cook fancy or complicated masterpieces, just good food from fresh ingredients." Our interpretation is to not get in the way of the food, let the ingredients speak for themselves. We mix this altogether with a nice selection of handcrafted cocktails (a must these days), craft brews, and wines, throw it all together in a relaxed beach cottage atmosphere, and try our best to provide you with the friendliest service we know how. Outdoor patio dining, There you have it: Shorebreak Lodge.

“Eclectic and Excellent Dining”
Reviewed December 3, 2013

We were looking for a nice restaurant with good food, and Shorebreak fit the bill. It is a small and intimate place but lots of fun - great bar with good beer, wine, and cocktail choices. The food is eclectic -- you can order small plates or large plates. We ended up ordering two small plates, mussels in garlic, and Thai spicy wings (no it's not a Thai place, that was just one of the items). We shared a main course, along with a side vegetarian course, and skipped dessert. By the way there are plenty of vegetarian options, and they looked very good (they were not an afterthought the way so many restaurants treat their vegetarian options). The total cost was quite reasonable for what we had. We will definitely come back the next time we're in the Rehobeth area.

“Absolutely wonderful!”
Reviewed November 13, 2013

I got to Shorebreak by way of yelp reviews, but I like TripAdvisor, too. We were a party of 7 and everybody loved each thing they ordered. We especially liked the charred octopus! My favorite was the shrimp and grits. I've had this dish at Commander's Palace and also at NOLAs in New Orleans. The chefs at those restaurants would have cried tears of shame if they could have tasted these shrimp and grits. They were just sublime. And our server was Anna. She was well-versed on the menu and gave excellent suggestions. She just is an excellent server. I can't wait to go back to this place!

“Stranded”
Reviewed October 26, 2013 via mobile

Shorebreak Lodge is not an inexpensive restaurant. Dinner for two without drinks ran $80 with tip. With a reservation we were sent to the back room where others were finishing their meals. Twenty minutes later we were by ourselves in an empty room facing an abandoned table filled with used cocktail glasses and dishes.

My wife's dish was way undercooked and when brought back to her had the gravy she asked to be on the potatoes on the meat instead. My meal was OK.

The staff seemed more interested in the lively bar scene. I guess we should have demand a front room table. Please see the picture of what we had to contend with.

“Great Find”
Reviewed October 18, 2013

We had seen Shorebreak lodge on our other trips to Rehoboth but they have usually been closed with we where there in the off season so this was our first chance to go and try the restaurant for dinner.
The atmosphere is very informal, almost surfer, which is fitting considering the name and the fact its about 1 block from the beach. The service was very friendly, we never felt rushed. we had a nice table right at the window so we could watch the town, what there was of it off season, to go by on Wilmington Avenue.
The food is fresh mostly locally sourced and the menu changes daily. There are large and small dishes depending on your appetite or budget, and they have many specialty cocktails on offer.
If they are open next time we're in town, we will be back.
