I don't know where to begin. We needed to eat and it was late, so this was almost our last option since it was not in peak season yet and they were the only ones open. We ate there despite the Yelp reviews out of necessity. It was Mother's Day night and from food to service the experience was frustrating.
We sat down and our server came to take our order. She was friendly, but un-prepared. The table top menu that listed the beers was not accurate. Of the 8 or so beers listed, they only had one or two. The server told us they were changing the beer on the menu. Understandable, but if you don't carry the beers, take the page out of the menu! If you are a server who knows the menu is not accurate, have a list of the beers you have and tell us as the beginning. Don't wait for us to order a beer and say "we don't have that beer" and after we request 2 or 3 out of stock beers tell us what you do have. Felt like I was playing GO FISH while ordering beer. When she came back later to ask us if we wanted a 2nd beer, we ordered what we thought we could, waited, then she came back and told us they had didn't have the 2 beers we ordered again. As a server, you have to know your beers.
Next came the food. I can't remember what my wife ordered, but they didn't have it, so she told us they had a very busy day and were out of a lot of items and proceeded to list 6 or 7 items that they did not have, which included bone in wings, fries, and chips.
Mind you this is a sports bar, so some items you should not run out of, ever, even if you have to go to a restaurant next door and borrow it! This would include wings, fries, and chips. The server told the table behind us they ran out of lettuce during the day. Come on, we are not talking high food cost items like steak and seafood.
The food that arrived, once we figured out what we could order was at best average. The crab soup was average flavor and not worth $6 for a cup. The caprese worked but should have leaves of basil instead of some pesto squatted on it. My sons corn dog was cooked to death.
The waitstaff was very apathetic. They spend more time standing around talking to each other than they do their guests or doing productive side work. If you are going to stand around and chit chat, do it in the back of house. The manager seemed to have the same attitude when I saw them engage other tables.
Peak season must crush is here as they appear to be adding a second location within 2 blocks on the boardwalk. I would never go into any of their location in any of the cities they are in, ever.
