“Beautiful morning bike ride”
Reviewed August 15, 2014 via mobile

We rode from Port Lewes to Gordon's Pond, through Cape Henelopen State Park on the new and improved bike trail at about 8am. Though the trail was well used by walkers joggers and bikers, it was still a quiet and secluded feeling. The ramp to an over look on the edge of the pond is a lovely view of the pond with the ocean behind it.

“Gordons Pond Was Great!”
Reviewed August 12, 2014

We had a wonderful time at Gordons Pond this week. Beautiful beaches, and wild life. We played and sat on the beach, hiked, biked and paddled.

The wildlife is amazing...deer, heron, egrets, hibiscus, gulls, turtles, etc. We love the trail that goes to Cape Henlopen.

We had heard from a Park Ranger about the Hermit of Gordons Pond. One night, towards dusk, we saw an upright figure walking in the marsh. The distance was pretty far but my son and daughter were certain it was a man. We had heard he lives off the land in the marsh area.

It was a really great trip!

I do the drive on beach access through Gordon's Pond. It's easy and within walking distance to the walk ons. Best of all, it's dog friendly.

“Excellent Scenic Trail”
Reviewed August 10, 2014

We biked the newly completed (6/14') trail from the Gordons Pond Lot (after biking up from the south end of Dewey). Great scenic ride with views of the pond, dunes, pines, wildlife, and beach. The 1/2 mile long boardwalk was very well done. The reward on the far end are the even more fantastic views from Herring Point, a bluff with abandoned military bunker. You can see the Cape Henlopen Light House, Ferry, adjacent bluffs, beach below, and on a clear day New Jersey.
