“NIGHTMARE”
Reviewed November 24, 2011

Went with a large group of friends to try it. WHAT A MESS! It took 30 mins to get drinks and then another 45 for apps. Then we ordered dinner. When we got our food it was literally raw! The chicken and fish was under cooked so bad that when we cut into it you could see the meat was not cooked!! It turns out the oven was broken and they tried to grill the food instead. When reporting this to our waitress she sent management that was rude and seemed frustrated but barely apologetic. She gave us our bill for the drinks and the apps (minus the raw food) with a $25 gift. Any restaurant would have not charged anything!! What a joke.

“The Wait is not worth the Food!”
Reviewed September 3, 2011

Even though recent reviews had scathingly deplored the interminable waiting after placing orders, we decided to take a chance, since we had enjoyed this restaurant in recent years. This was not a smart decision. We arrived on time for our reservation and were promptly seated. We ordered drinks and appetizers and they came promptly. We then ordered. After 45 minutes we were told the kitchen was running behind, and it could be another 20 minutes. 30 minutes later we were told that the kitchen had a "meltdown." The entrees came about 20 minutes after that. One of the people at the table had ordered salmon and the plate that was served had a crust but clearly after the first bite, this was not salmon, but a rather tasty halibut which she proceeded to eat (no chance on making a second order). About five minutes later the waiter brought the salmon - and left the halibut. I had a very nice plate of scallops. Other at the table had a Spit Roasted Chicken, and Crab Cakes. Good food. A very understanding and frustrated manager comped a substantial amount of our drinks.

Until they get their kitchen in order, I wouldn't eat here - unless you bring apicnic basket with you

“Everything was great !”
Reviewed August 30, 2011

We were hesitant to go to Salt Air Kitchen based on other reviews about poor service. Maybe we got lucky the night we went because everything was perfect. We arrived on a Tuesday night about 8pm without reservations and were seated within 5 minutes. I ordered the "Salt Air Manhattan" cocktail and it was excellent. The menu offers a variety of appetizers and creative entree selections. We had the Love Dusted Yellow Fin Tuna, Fire Roasted Swordfish, Crabcakes and Rockfish. All our entrees were brought to our table in a timely manner. The restaurant has 2-3 separated dining areas so the noise level was not too loud. We really enjoyed Salt Air Kitchen and plan to return the next time we are in Rehoboth Beach.
