I really hoped to give this place a raving review, particularly since it has the most vegan friendly menu in the area. The physical attributes are "shabby chic" with a heavy leaning towards "shabby." I do give them kudos for going the green route of reusing and recycling everything but a little more care needs to be put into place to take it up a notch. The air conditioning is one lone stand up unit with a fan in front of it. Totally useless and pointless on a hot summer day as it does not cool down the whole dining section. You end up sweating so badly that you can't enjoy your meal in total comfort. The prices are comparable and as expensive as some of the other high end restaurants in the area. The food was good but not something we would rave about and certainly not worth the price charged. I truly hope this place gets a manager who is equipped with knowing how to run, organize and clean this place because its potential is monumental. They are on the right track but just need someone more skillful to run the train, so to speak.

Hobo's is one place you can count on to deliver consistently delicious, healthy meals at the beach -- all at a reasonable price in a shabby-chic setting. The restaurant caters to vegans and vegetarians, with a huge selection of "Buddha bowls" with tofu in various sauces, rice, cilantro, avocado and a snappy ginger sauce. For non-vegs, there is a variety of locally-sourced, environmentally sustainable fish, meat and fresh produce. Even the drinks are creative and memorable. There's a lovely outdoor porch surrounded by flowers and vines, or you can eat inside the historic house and enjoy the hippie vibes. This place is one I can keep coming back to, for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and always find something new and appealing. My 13-year old nephew loved the crab-artichoke-red pepper quesadilla!

Hobos, the name caused us to be skeptical, but we found a real treasure and are sure to return many more times. The menu offered fresh food with interesting flavor combinations/profiles. The cocktails were lively and creative. Try their mojotos! We had the dip appetizer and raved over the tapenade, hummus, and baba ganoush. Among our entrées were two Buda bowls, scallops and tuna. All were prepared with care and flair. You can't go wrong at this gem of a restaurant.

We had two Buddha bowls., curry soup and cucumber soup. The cucumber soup was excellent! The entrees are large and come sensitevly seasoned. The waitor was friendly and helpful. The type on the menu is way too small for a dimly lit restaurant. A redesign of the menu would be helpful. Given the size of the servings we will split a budda bowl and order something different to split next time. A little expensive but well prepared and attractive.

The food is superb. The menu is very creative. Servers are great, and staff is very accommodating for food allergies. I highly recommend this restaurant.
