“The Bright Star of Rehoboth Beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

I usually try to stay at a guest house whenever I travel for a destination vacation/get away. I also try to obtain referrals for a place to stay but I didn't have any this trip. Having wanted to go to Rehoboth Beach for several years the time had come and I needed to book a place quick. I did as much research as anyone else can do online and it came down to several places. I basically tossed a coin and thank god "heads" happened to be The Rehoboth Guest House. From the minute I opened the front door and walked in - I was Home, and treated like family by the guests but most especially by the Hosts, Steve and Tom. These two gentlemen have raised the bar on hospitality for all other Inns to be envious of. The house is charming and quaint and kept very clean. The service is impeccable. The food is incredible and Steve goes out of his way when possible to accommodate guests with special dietary needs. This is not your ordinary "Continental Breakfast". Every morning guests are presented with an array of delicious treats. From cakes and pastries prepared by Tom (a professional baker), a large selection of fresh fruits, cereals, bagels & breads, freshly brewed coffee and juices to Steve's delicious quiche and hot bacon infused egg "omelettas" - you will certainly find a delicious way to kick off your day. Don't forget to try one of Tom's unbelievable cupcakes - they are crazy good! I was fortunate enough to be staying on the weekend and was treated to a fun, entertaining and delicious Wine and Cheese cocktail party held from 5-7 every Saturday. This wonderful experience was a great way to start your Saturday night by gathering around the back porch for some comradery with a plentiful selection of hors d'oeuvres, beer, wine and soft drinks. The guesthouse itself is in a perfect central location to all shopping, restaurants, bars and the boardwalk. Even though the house was fully booked the entire three nights I stayed, you would almost never know as it was very quiet. I can understand why this house has become very popular and in such demand. I will definitely be coming back to this guesthouse in the future, and cannot wait to return!

Just came back from a three-night stay at the Guest House and really enjoyed it! It was our first time doing a B&B in Rehoboth -- previously we've stayed at hotels in town -- and we were quite pleased.

The inn itself is clean and comfortable, with a beautiful front porch and expansive backyard, plus a second-floor balcony. It's a very quick walk to the beach, the boardwalk and all of the town's great restaurant, bars and shops. The innkeeper, Steve, was so polite and helpful, and you can tell he really cares about the place. He has cute dogs, too!

The Saturday night wine and cheese party was a really nice touch, and a great way to kick back after a day at the beach. The morning breakfasts were delicious and plentiful, too: lots of pastries, bagels and fresh fruit. And we definitely raided the candy bowl in the lobby a few times.

Our room was quiet, even though we were at the top of the second-floor stairs, and although we did have to share a bathroom with another room, we only had to wait to use it once. Since we were in a shared-bathroom room, we were on our own for parking (they gave us a permit) and did have to leave the car about a 10-minute walk away. But since we weren't planning to move it all weekend, it wasn't a big deal.

Overall, it was a lovely stay (the price was right, too), and knowing that they're planning renovations this fall, I'm sure we'll be back next summer.

Gracious innkeepers...Tom and Steve...who attended to guests' every need. Fun Sat. night cocktail party for guests. Great recommendations from Tom for seafood restaurant. Light open airy room that was very quiet. My sister and I went on a three-day vacation/retreat and it couldn't have been a nicer place to stay!

Room Tip: We probably had the nicest room on the third floor, room 31.

Just got back from my stay at the Guest House and I already miss it! Will definitely return. Great accommodations, prices, and people. There is a real welcoming, community feel to this place, and the innkeepers clearly care about that! Also, complimentary wine and cheese/mingle with other guests on Saturday evening. This is THE PLACE to stay in Rehoboth.

A great gay owned B&B type of experience. we spent a week and what a terrific location. Walking distance is about 8 min to the boardwalk and ocean. About a 3 min walk to all the gay and gay friendly restaurants, shops and pub via the secret back gate from the garden. A nice breakfast spread of healthy cold treats is set out all morning. We stayed on the third floor with our own bath, and got a reserved parking space a short walk away, in high season this is critical. Our last day we had our wedding at the guest house. Our managers were our witnesses and they cleared out the main room to accommodate our officiant, and treated these two women like queens for the day. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. Cindy and Amy from Indiana.

This place was awesome! I went there with a good friend of mine to get away from the stress of being a stay-at-home mom & just relax & have a good time. That's exactly what this the Guest House was. The atmosphere & hosts were so friendly & welcoming. They made us feel right at home, not like we were staying at a hotel, but like we were staying with friends. Happy hour out back on the secluded lawn was a huge perk, you don't want to miss it. It's a great way to relax & meet new people after a day on the beach, before heading out again for the night. The location is awesome, only a short walk from the beach, boardwalk, shops, & nightlife. Since we had a room with a shared bathroom, parking was not great for us. They gave us a parking pass so we didn't have to plug meters, which was great, but it was really hard finding a parking space, so we had to work around that. But since we were so close to everything, once we got our car parked, it was there to stay until it was time to load up & head out. Although we didn't see a need for renovation & loved the quaintness & simplicity, they will be renovating it later in the year. I can only see it getting better. We will return!
