“Can't get any better than this in this area!”
Reviewed March 20, 2014

This was our 2nd time staying at the Plaza. The staff, room and overall hotel are fanrtastic. Our ocean view deluxe room (w/a private sitting area which can be closed off from the bedroom so that those who sleep later in the morning won't be awakened) was great - the second time we had a room like this. The amenities are wonderful, the staff can't do enough for you, the the Sunday brunch menu is out of this world.

Room Tip: The 4th floor is adults only - so it's quieter. The rooms w/sitting areas which can be closed o...

Thank you so much for your review! We are all tickled to hear that it "can't get any better" but we will keep trying to improve and surprise you on your next visit. As you mentioned, Victoria's does have an all-new Sunday brunch menu and format (a la carte as opposed to buffet) and we're happy to hear you enjoyed it. Please come see us again, soon!

Yes, the staff were very friendly and the boardwalk location was fantastic. That being said, the decor was so comically bad, that I have to give it a low rating. My complaint is most geared toward the guest rooms, though it applies to some of the public spaces as well. Now, the rooms are not so genuinely Victorian, as to feel like the set of a period film. They are clearly a modern interpretation of Victorian style. I'm absolutely good with that. The problem is that this "modern" interpretation is badly outdated, reminiscent of the pages of Victoria Magazine from 25 years ago, or worse, a geriatric home. Just because the style is Victorian, doesn't mean you don't need to update the décor to suit modern sensibilities. The owners would do well to hire an interior designer, or at the very least, pick up a copy of Victoria Magazine from the past 5 years-- that is, if they wish to continue advertising the hotel as a high-end destination.

What a lovely time away for 3 nights and the ocean front suite was just fantastic. From check in with Chris to check out with Pamela we were treated like royalty. Want to thank Jackson our bellhop for great service, Bonnie, Jennifer, Joanne, Tim and Gretchen you are the best wait staff there is. They take such great care of their guests and it is a hotel unmatched in Rehoboth Beach. Thanks all so much and we will be back.

Room Tip: Definitely go for the ocean front suite. What a view.

Love the Victorian look,,takes you back in time a bit which is such a great touch and done so tastefully. The spa is fantastic and soooo relaxing..and open 24 hours!!!!. My aunt and I go every January if not twice a year to this beautiful place. The staff is fantastic, friendly and always accommodating. Tom in the Computer Room is simply the best and has the patience of a saint. Truly the best place to stay in Rehoboth Beach.

My boyfriend and I spent the first four nights of our spring break at the Boardwalk Plaza. It was, by far, the best experience I've ever had at a hotel. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, and the rooms are beautiful. If you can't make it to this hotel during the summer season, I highly recommend visiting in the off-season. It's still a wonderful beach experience. Make sure to eat in the hotel restaurant. They have great meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Stayed at the Boardwalk Plaza this past February. Hotel staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Called for reservations and the receptionist was very pleasant and courteous. As soon as I arrived the staff wanted to go out of there way to make me feel at home and provide me with the best room for the lowest price. The Hotel has a very relaxed and home type feeling with ocean views and plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance. The room was very clean and very comfortable. I would definitely stay there again if I'm in the area. Great atmosphere and outstanding staff.

We had a brief opportunity to visit the Delaware coast and found this online. The initial staff was welcoming and the room, though a bit tired, was comfortable, with an oceanfront view. The website is confusing because the rooftop and outdoor whirlpool are not currently available. There is a small indoor/outdoor pool designed to operate as a whirlpool. Unfortunately the timer and wall controls do not work according to the posted instructions. After we gave up, Chris at the front desk dismissively told us that they only work after 8:00 pm and then only when the staff activates it. We were also concerned that parts of the pool mechanism were on the pool deck. The hotel restaurant was okay with good service and there are a number of fun nearby restaurants.

Thank you for coming to stay at the Boardwalk Plaza, and for taking the time to review your experience. Please accept our apologies that the rooftop was temporarily closed and that any of our staff was discourteous in any way. It is never our intention to disappoint our guests in any area.

Unfortunately, the concierge level's private rooftop and hot tub are closed occasionally due to inclement weather. Although we try to keep it open as often as possible, an excess of ice and snow this season did cause us to close it for guests' safety on more than one occasion. We are sorry that this may have been the case during your visit.

We are also sorry for the confusion regarding the lobby-level indoor heated spa pool. During the day hours when children are welcome, the jets remain off for their safety (although sometimes this rule has been bent when staff is certain children are not a concern.) In the evening hours when the spa becomes adults-only, the jets are activated by timed controls. Again, our apologies that the situation was mishandled.

We appreciate your staying with us, as well as your constructive comments. Please know that your feedback is important to us. We hope to offer you an improved experience in the future.
