We frequently stay at Marriott properties for both business and personal travel. This trip was a combination of both but more personal due to the July 4 weekend. Check-in was quick and easy. It was interesting that we had to sign a "No Noise Policy" but more on that later.
Our suite was upstairs-there is no elevator since there are only 2 floors. Our room had the typical hotel room smell but appeared clean and well maintained. It was one of the larger Marriott properties we have stayed at and the setup worked well for my Husband and I since we both had to work. There was one dedicated desk area near the door and another table/desk right at the kitchen area that was larger so we each had our own work space. The decor was pleasant if on the dark side-dark green carpeting, dark wood furniture, etc but if you opened up the shades we had plenty of light coming in which helped.
We were disappointed that the bed was more firm than we are accustomed to at Marriott's but it was comfortable none the less. The bathroom was small as you had to walk all the way in and stand parallel to the shower/tub before being able to close the door. Vanity area was spacious and there were two closets. Overall we found the room clean if not much more than basic. No large flat screen TV or plush bedding but served our needs to the trip.
The property is right across the street from a single family home community which made us feel very safe. On the downside you are also right near the highway and depending on the location of your suite you will hear the traffic whizzing by. The parking lot was well lit and parking plentiful. Back to the no-noise policy we had to sign. It was basically stating that we would have any parties and would keep the noise level down. I was thinking are we renting an apartment? Other than the traffic and the occasional screaming child it was relatively quiet. We weren't too bothered by the kids as after all it was a holiday weekend.
Breakfast was plentiful with an assortment of fruit, bagels, muffins, and juice. You can make your own waffle as well. The staff did a good job of keeping everything replenished so no complaints there.
The property is also very near a couple of strip malls that have a pharmacy and a couple of restaurants. Apparently the mall is nearby as well but we didn't do any shopping so I can't comment on that.
Overall we were pleased with our stay as we weren't looking for anything fancy. This would be great for an extended stay as it really did have the feel and look of a studio apartment. We also found all the staff to be very pleasant and helpful.
