This is the most wonderful place to visit; an endlessly delightful place to visit; great fun!!!!!! The staff are all so helpful and go out of there way to make everyone feel as comfortable as I could possibly imagine. I came here with my father; since my mom transitioned June 6,2012. Everyone at Montchanin Village go out of their way to make you experience a completely satisfying stay, better than home.

Room Tip: I have stayed in the Morgan a number of times and it is a wonderful room, I slept like a baby!!!

Stayed here perhaps half a dozen times on business. Consistently high service levels in the hotel. Rooms vary in size and aspect. Always with character, living flame fires, nice fabrics, quality toiletries linen and towels.
Downsides-all rooms are in buildings separate from reception, either bar and the restaurant so bring a coat/ umbrella. Secondly breakfast doesn't start until 7 and is then table service which realistically means if you need breakfast you can't leave the property much before 7.45 which is not always conducive to an early start at the office. On a weekend with family not a problem.
I do keep coming back though so it must be worth the compromise!

We selected the Inn at Montchanin as our wedding venue sight unseen. Working with Andrew to plan and execute a small but very personalized wedding event was a delight. His attention to detail and responsive were unsurpassed. The food and beverage service was superb. Their flexibility in working with our other vendors were commendable.

Thanks to the entire staff at Montchanin for making our wedding weekend so memorable!

I recently when to the Spa at the Inn at Montchanin Village. Their 60 minute Swedish Massage was wonderful. It truly relaxed me from the plush robe and slippers to the quiet relaxation room and calming music. It was just a wonderfully relaxing experience! I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Overall, I highly recommend this inn. The staff truly work hard to be accommodating and friendly. The rural location completes the setting. Far enough to be away from it all but close enough to Wilmington for dinners, entertainment, etc. And the massage at the spa was the best ever. No exaggeration.
My only feedback to them would be to bring the food service proficiency up to the rest of the staff. Room service brought the wrong breakfast order, no butter or jam for the toast and one napkin for two meals. And no cup for the tea. (Should we drink from the pot?) The restaurant also messed up our order twice in one meal. In both cases, the food was good but not great. Strong presentation though for both and equally courteous staff.
