The view from this restaurant is excellent as is the usual offerings. I wish it were closer so we could eat more meals there. The italian dishes, specialty appetizers etc are all of very high quality; The bread table is also very nice witha nice selection.

“Food is hit and miss, and average service”
Reviewed October 21, 2012

We are local and have eaten at dipity 3 or 4 times in the past few years. It is highly recommend by people. Our last outing here was my wife's birthday in August and it really has gone downhill since our first visit 3 years ago. SInce it was still tourist season we expect the food to be at its best, and it was far from it. ( the reality of living in a tourist area, off season you have to carefully plan where you dine. )

I do agree with others that it is a bit overpriced, but it is also not typical diner food either. Most of the food does not seem to be simple reheats of supplier bought food.

The italian food has always been above average, and most of the diner type entrees have always been above average.. It is the seafood where they seem to fall flat. That is what we ordered our last time there, and that was where it was really not worth the price nor was it good.

“Feeding a crowd”
Reviewed October 11, 2012

We had visited the restaurant last May and returned this time with a group of 11 people. The decor is fantastic. Our 10 year old grand-daughter was taking it all in and was especially fond of the parasol covered ceiling. The food does not disappoint either. Most of us split an entree with another person as the portions were LARGE and tasty. In one case, there was so much food that we took some home to have the next day.

“Great pizza!”
Reviewed September 20, 2012

We go to Serendipity often for the wonderful pizza. Such a hidden treasure, but for us handy since we are in Long Neck. It is especially nice in the warm weather to sit outside for a cocktail before dinner. But we love going there year round. The decor is unique and the rest of the menu is nice also, but I love the pizza!

“Duck the seafood, order Italian”
Reviewed September 17, 2012

My wife and I have frequently gone for lunch, but this week was for dinner. We generally have Italian, which is good to very good, but a special this time was a shrimp and scallop manicotti with a pink sauce, which sounded very appealing. I wish it had delivered, but it didn't - bland in the extreme when it should have been delicate, but flavorful. The service was, as usual, poor; they're always understaffed and our server forgot the takeout order we had placed, and we had to wait 15 m minutes for it when we were promised it would be only five.

The ambiance was spectacular as usual - wonderful water views and a funky colorful interior. One problem - all the surfaces are hard and it can be noisy.

My advice - go for lunch and stick with the Italian; that and the beautiful views can make for a pleasurable experience.
