Spent 2 enjoyable nights at this hotel in Milford Delaware. It is located within easy driving distance of Dover, the fairgrounds which have Harness Racing and a Casino, several nice beaches, the Ferry that goes from Lewes to Cape May, NJ, and the outlet mall in Rohobeth.

We had a large room with 2 queen beds. There was a safe in the room and a useful desk. Included in the room price ware free wireless internet, free continental breakfast which was better than average, and premium channels on the TV. The Hotel has a nice indoor pool and SPA both of which we used. The water temperature was comfortable and the SPA much larger than expected.

The Cons were minor. The TV channel selection was quite good but it was an older style set, not the Flat screen found in many hotels we have stayed in. The Internet was easy to connect to but I was dropped off a couple of times. Each time I was able to reconnect quickly.

Room prices were quite reasonable and I would rate it as a good value with one warning. If you are not interested in the Motor races at Dover Speedway, you might avoid weekends when there is a race as rates at all of the hotels within driving distance of the speedway go up significantly.

My family and I (a family of four) took a short vacation to Rehoboth Beach, and decided to stay at the AmericInn (Milford, DE) because of the reviews. I'm truly glad we did. It's not on the beach, but it was close enough for us. It's surrounded by many eating places and familiar stores. The hotel itself is very charming, and super clean. Our room was clean, roomy, and beds were comfortable. The breakfast was satisfactory and "FREE", so we were grateful that we didn't have to worry about that expense, but what blew us away was the hospitality and friendliness of the AmericInn staff, especially the entire front desk crew. We had the opportunity to meet each young lady that worked the differing shifts and they all shared the same spirit of hospitality. They were nothing less than exceptional, from the time I called the hotel to reserve, to check-in, then check-out. They ALL were outgoing, friendly, courteous, and helpful, which is certainly a rarity in this day and age. I'm a definite advocate for great customer service in the hospitality industry, and these young ladies did not disappoint. That is what my family and I remembers most, and what will cause us to stay at this hotel again.

We were going to the Delaware State Fair on our way to Rehoboth. I had read the reviews on the AmericInn in Harrington, right across the street from the Fair, but most were not good so we decided to drive the 6 miles further to stay at this AmericInn. It's in a location with great visibility on Dupont Highway but it's location on the fringe of the parking lot of a shopping plaza and the circuitous route getting into/out of the place is odd.....it's siting isn't the greatest.

From the time I made reservations by phone to check-in and breakfast, the staff was very helpful, courteous and professional. Lisa, Tiffany and Janice were all super--clearly good at their jobs and just genuinely helpful people. The main reception area has a large stone fireplace with a sofa and some comfy chairs--a great space for waiting for family members (or just getting away from them). Coffee, tea and ice water are always available in the "great room". They even had a basket of apples.

The pool is a very decent size and the cedar planked walls and ceiling are beautiful. The adjacent spa (larger but not as hot as a hot tub) needs a little work--there were lots of large chips in the finish. The breakfast area is spacious and comfortable. Eggs and sausage were of the microwave variety but not bad. There was cold cereal, make your own waffles, instant oatmeal, yogurt, English muffins, bagels, bread, peanut butter, butter, etc.---it was extensive and well stocked.

The room had a fridge and small refrigerator in it. The only evidence we found of the room not being cleaned well was a bathing suit bottom (left by the prior tenant) found on the floor of the closet. The staff was extremely apologetic when told about it. Overall, it was great deal. And, we were happy to find out that the management of this AmericInn is now running the Harrington AmericInn...perhaps we will try it out next year for the Fair (contingent upon the reviews of the TripAdvisor community, of course!).

Room Tip: Our room was on the first floor (down the hall from the reception and pool room) and was on the back...

Stayed here for 2 nights. Everything was fine except our room was a little humid - more so than outside. The AC helped some but then it would get cold. We did not complain about it. The free breakfast was very good and the pool/hot tub is nice also.

We stopped in Milford delaware on our way to Ocean city. The americinn was right on the main road, but set far enough back that it was quiet. close to numerouse restaurants and shops. Rooms were very spacious and the staff was very accomodating. The pool area was nice. We rented two rooms- one with a king size bed and handicapped accessible bath; and one with two queen size beds. Both were clean, comfortable, quiet and very large.
Staff were very helpful in helping me find a walk in clinic for my son who had an ear infection. They called around to find one open late and gave us great directions.

Room Tip: The two queens were large enough for a family of five if the children are small.

We stayed for four nights and were very comfortable. The room was huge with both a fireplace and a jacuzzi tub. Unfortunately we only used the room to sleep. We did not use the huge pool area or the internet. We did have the breakfast which was pretty good. A decent variety of items and the tea water was hot, staff was extremely attentive and helpful.

We needed an overnight motel near Slaughter Beach for the annual horseshoe crab census in May. The staff was extremely friendly and the room was very clean. Also the complimentary breakfast wasn't fancy but it had a waffle machine and microwavable egg and sausage biscuits in addition to the normal cereals, bagels and pastries - a definite plus!
