Very warm welcome -- good start to a vacation day. And those low-fat, healthy muffins were great -- no "synthetic" taste!

There was a line to and out the door - apparently, there often is. It was absolutely worth the wait. Once I had a cup and got over to the coffee pump-pots, there was a helpful little sign advising me to try a little of each before choosing. Smart! I did, and happily settled on the red velvet coffee, which I found delicious from the first sip to the last. Two of us also shared an "ooey-gooey". Aptly named! It was as described: somewhere between pastry and bagel, smothered in a fudgy sort of caramel. If you can handle super-sweet and manage stickiness, I would advise trying it. All of the baked goods looked really good - this one was just the stand-out for being different from our usual...

While signed as the Lewes Bake Shoppe, the interior is predominately the Notting Hill Coffee Roastery. Which is OK, their coffee is among the best anywhere. They of course do offer baked goods, and sandwiches and wraps, all good. Try the ooey gooey with your coffee.

The Shoppe itself is quite small, with almost a dozen small tables. Attractively decorated with coffee roasting paraphernalia, one whole wall is shelving with their take home coffee offerings.

A tip: you may find a line to the door once inside. If all you want is a cup of coffee to go, simply walk to the right rear of the shop until you come to a counter with a large selection of coffees in thermos carafes, pour your coffee, add whatever you like, put a lid on it, pay by putting payment in a large jar, and exit. All on the honor system.

This busy bake shop is small but has adequate seating. They have a wide variety of coffees and teas to choose from. The staff was friendly and the food, coffee and tea were good.

Was surprised when we went inside, they have a HUGE selection of coffee and tea, even have a coffee roasting machine right there, I thought it was just a bakery. I love baked goods but can be picky, the ooey gooey was 5 out of 5, was great
