“Great Place for Beer, Wine and Pizza”
Reviewed November 7, 2013

Half Full is a very small place with lots of energy and great pizza. Paired with a wide selection of wines, it makes for a great night out. Being small you have to sit with others but what a neat way to meet people and share a great evening.

“Cozy, trendy place; excellent wine, beer and fresh specialty pizza”
Reviewed November 3, 2013

Half Full is very centrally located in the heart of historic downtown Lewes, Delaware, around the corner from King's ice cream and across the small piazza from Azafran, just off 2nd Street. It's a tiny place, with a wonderfully warm, trendy decor and a very limited menu: outstanding, individual-serving (8"X12") specialty pizzas, wine and beer. All the tables are high-tops with backless stools. There are a handful of outdoor seats on the porch, and another handful along the window-counters inside. Diners order at the kitchen window from a one-page pizza menu card. Drinks and food are brought to your table. The wine list is interesting and varied, and the modest beer list is likewise filled with interesting microbrews, many brewed locally. Pizzas are assembled from fresh ingredients such as mushrooms, arugula, spicey Italian sausage (much thinner than standard peperoni), black olive tapanade, slow-cooked pork, caramelized onions, figs, beef short ribs, and cheeses like goat cheese and "dubliner." These pizzas reach you immediately from the oven, and are rich with flavor and texture... a real treat. More like genuine served-in-Tuscany pizza than most U.S. pizza. Pizza's range from $10-12, and yes, there's a do-it-yourself option, and ingrdients can easily be mixed and matched.
This is not a "fancy night out," (and maybe not-so-much for the kids, although there is a kids' pizza choice) but Half Full is certainly an elegant little place for some good wine and great pizza.

“Want exceptional pizza?”
Reviewed October 31, 2013

This cozy place offers only pizza and it's so good you wouldn't want anything else. Many traditional toppings and unique combinations, personal-size. Our party of three got three different kinds and had enough to take home. Two would have been plenty. Great wine offerings. Get their early because it's a small place that fills up quickly. Loved it!

“Date night w/wine and great pizza”

This place has a great apin on gourmet pizzas and a better than average wine selection. Perfect for a party that wants to have a conversation over some comfort food and a bit of vino.

“Not your ordinary pizza”
Reviewed October 3, 2013

Sit outside at Half Full and enjoy people watching, gorgeous aromas, the evening sky and a lovely breeze while sipping wine and munching on artisan pizzas served up on parchment lined, wooden boards. Know that if you want the coveted outside seats you need to arrive early and stake your claim. Inside seating is great too with lots of tables and a front window bar. Half Full makes great pizza - we especially enjoy the argula topped, blue cheese and fig ensemble - serves excellent wines - and serves up excellent conversation with neighboring diners. Often times the wines, which are stored in the itsy-bitsy kitchen, are served too warm and actually get to a better drinking temperature while they sit on the table. If you are very particular you might want to bring an insulated bottle jacket with to cool off the bottle...or you could do the inconceivable and stick an ice cube in your glass! Expect to wait a tad longer than you think you should but it is worth the wait. Go and enjoy.
