The new seating in the salon is awesome. It's like flying first class. The trip is a great way to cut your driving and avoid the summer traffic. Free internet is sketchy but better then it used to be (nothing). We have rode our bikes on and toured Lewes Delaware which is a nice day to get out and do something different. They have bus service to the outlets and bike rentals in the summer months. The trip is relaxed if the kids aren't running you around the decks wanting to see this or that but fun either way.
Getting there is well marked with big lanes for RVers. Plenty of parking and enough to do to keep the kids and adults busy while waiting for the next ferry. The wait is not long but do check the schedule if you are arriving late in the afternoon/evening. Reservations are available and is easy to do on their website if needed. The price is worth the break.

Traveling from Southern Maryland to Wildwood, By the Sea, NJ... Taking the ferry is the only way to go... Cuts the drive time in half... Fun ride on the ship... Arrive ready to have some fun and sun on the beach and boards.

To spend time away from the beach, we took the 3:30 ferry from Lewes to Cape May. The only problem with the ferry was that we had called earlier and asked if we needed to make reservations. The person said no, but when we arrived for the 2:45 it was already soldout. On the ferry the ferry there was a gift shop and a cafeteria with salads, sandwiches, and microwaveable foods. On the way to NJ there were some bigger waves. In Cape May, NJ there are shops and enough to do for only 2 1/2 hours there. We took the last ferry back, at 8:00 and even though we missed the sunset because of clouds it was still very pretty.

What a great way to travel! Easy, inexpensive way to go back and forth between Lewes, DE and Cape May, NJ. On the ferry is a small fast-food restaurant, a gift shop, and comfortable seating. The enclosed area is air-conditioned and has comfy chairs arranged theater-style so that you can watch a big-screen TV. Or, you can sit at tables alongside huge windows. Outside, on the deck, are benches and individual beach-type chairs. Ferry takes about 85-90 minutes.
