“I'd ride back & forth on the ferry all day if I could!”
Reviewed July 11, 2013 via mobile

So relaxing.. Ahh what else can I say? No annoying Captain yapping over the loud speaker through out your trip making ridiculous jokes.. And kids screaming all over you here... There's room for everyone!
Staff is very helpful & pleasant.
So go for the ride & take a break from the ordinary!

“A Quick Trip Across the Bay with First Class Service”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

While a bit expensive (compared to the Outer Banks Ferry in NC, which cost a mere $15 compared to this shorter trip at $61) the service here is first-class. Modern interior cabin seating has TV viewing and a full-service snack bar and a gift shop. The swaying of the boat can be a bit intense if you are prone to seasickness. At the Lewes Terminal, there are many options to keep you busy while you wait to board, a nice touch!

“Enjoyable ferry ride...”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

We took the ferry from cape may to lewes. Check and boarding were efficient. Car loading was well coordinated. Lots of seating inside and out. Captain annouced dolphin sighting, so it was a thrill to see sea life. This was our first ferry ride and we would definitely do it again.

“Nice Way to Relax on Long Trip to NJ Shore”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

This is our 2nd time to ride the ferry (1st time was 2 years ago). We live in south central Pennsylvania & going down the PA turnpike, AC Expressway & Garden State Parkway is the most direct way to travel to Ocean City NJ. Two years ago, we decided to take the ferry from Lewes, stop by Cape May to look for "diamonds" before proceeding to Ocean City NJ. We all enjoyed that ferry trip - walking around the ferry, eating ice cream, watching the waves, just relaxing on the inside & outside seating areas.
This year, we were going to bring my daughter's friend to OCNJ with us. We decided to do the ferry side trip again (even though my teenager wanted to skip the "diamond" hunt) - it would be fun for the girls. We were on the Cape Henlopen ferry from Lewes to Cape May. They loved it. My daughter's friend kept saying "that was fun," "I love the ferry," and "that was really fun." She had been to a ferry in New England but not on a ferry that carries automobiles. She thought it was really neat. Sure, the side trip cost us an additional $67 (1 vehicle & driver, 3 adults (>14 years old) but it was priceless.
There is a restroom with plenty of stalls, gift shop & place to buy refreshments. We brought our own lunch. There is inside seating with tables, TV, AC and electrical outlets with USB connectors by each booth. Outside there is plenty of room for sitting (lounge chairs & benches).
The ferry personnel are all pleasant & patient with directing traffic into and out of the ferry. They are very organized in loading different-sized vehicles.

“Efficient and enjoyable”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

If everything ran as smoothly as this ferry, the world would be a better place. The car check-in and loading process was smooth and seamless, as was the unloading. The crew couldn't have been any friendlier; they circulated among the passengers and provided my children with ferry-themed coloring books, while the captain distributed a trading card with his picture and information on it, which my son loved. They were all very friendly. It was a fabulous experience.
