I happened upon Red Fire Grill by accident. What a find. Our server, Marissa, was delightful and very attentive. Excellent food and wine selection. The outdoor patio was a nice surprise.

A major overhaul of this eatery a few years ago produced fantastic results. It was originally opened and operated for about 10 years as "Dome" and the owner decided a refresh was in order. It closed and reopened as a steak house, but with plenty of well-prepared alternatives to slabs of meat. The food's consistently good, and if it's not, the management will make it right. The staff is well trained and very efficient. The wine list is varied and decent. The price point is just right; not cheap, but only the big steaks will cost you $30. Their chopped salad is a meal in itself -- greens, asparagus, tomatoes, bacon and one of the best versions of green goddess dressing ever (it's got a hint of tarragon in it). They also offer a Wedge that's far and away the best I've had (applewood smoked bacon and a fresh blue cheese dressing). Soups are wonderf; a crab bisque that's creamy and full of lump crabmeat. The chicken tortilla soup is slightly spicy but not enough to frighten the more timid palate. Good beers on tap. Bar scene is very active; lots of local singles filter over from the athletic club across the street. Bartenders are very efficient and friendly. In nice weather, the patio is wonderful and quiet (there's a lighted pond with a shower system that keeps water moving). Dining room is big and can be a little noisy when the place is full (which it is on weekends especially). This has become our "neighborhood" restaurant and we eat here at least once a week. Never had a bad meal. The scallop appetizer is amazing; the gorgonzola dip and fried bread are irresistible. The crab/artichoke dip fantastic. The most decadent and wonderful dish on the menu is dangerous: Lobster Mac and Cheese. Too good to pass up, too many carbs and cholesterol to eat regularly! Hidden gem of a restaurant in this northern Delaware village.

I typically do not order fish from restaurants, but I couldn't resist after reading the description. I have ordered it 4 times since my initial visit. It's AMAZING! Only serve American wines, which is slightly disappointing, but offer some decent selections. Creme brulee dessert is really tasty too!

We come here frequently either for special occasions (such as birthdays or anniversarys) or just for a night out/ happy hour. Their food is great- best steaks around for sure. You definitely have to go with the Gorgonzola dip and bread as a starter- amazing!!! I don't think I've ever had a bad meal here and their happy hour specials are also good... We will definitely come back here again and again!

My husband and I go to RF frequently as it is close to home. Note: First and foremost- this is not like the chain steak houses, as things are given special attention and the kitchen is able to modify the offerings according to patron needs, especially regarding dietary requirements. No GF menu but they are able to adjust and let you know if something can't be prepared GF or low sodium. We find the staff well trained regarding wine and beer specials and always friendly. The management regularly makes the rounds and acknowledges repeat customers. The food is good quality and fresh. The prices reflect these additional touches and we are happy to pay for that attention and quality. Menu changes since the switch over 2 yrs ago from the Dome to RF brought major improvements. It is more restaurant fare-like and less pub-like now, although the bar is a very nice area and one can order dinner there and be well taken care of. We have caught the entertainment from time to time...and that could be better as far as reflecting something more conducive to talking and function more as background music than get up and dance stuff. Probably not gonna happen there...This is a neighborhood establishment, and attracts many locals on the way home from work, the airport or just a night out where you can relax, talk and have a good meal with options other than a sanwich or fried food. We like the place!
