After trying to find an available room at every hotel by the beaches in Rehoboth, Lewes and Bethany with no success we decided to move inland, and based on the tripadvisor reviews chose The Brick, with no regrets. From the historic preservation disguising the modern conveniences to the warmth of the staff (especially adorable Garth!) we couldn't have been more comfortable. After being escorted to our room (The Parrot Perch, which was large, very clean and comfy) and settling in we returned to the lobby for some complimentary wine with a shrimp hor d'oerve. Following a walk through the town (actually not much beyond the lovely circle) we returned for a dinner of high quality both in terms of the food and the service (and live background piano). The next morning we were able to help ourselves to an array of fresh fruit w/yogurt, scones and muffins in the upstairs parlor and also a delicious hot brunch in the dining room (which, at $9 was a real value!). If you want a hotel that is not a hotel but more like a B&B...delightful room...great food...terrific service...fantastic value, visit The Brick. Oh....almost forgot to mention Ophelia...she apparently hangs out in one of the guest rooms and likes to hide things (like my watch). Just an added bonus to the historical ambience.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the side garden will be quieter given the traffic around the circle.

My husband and I stayed there for two nights and had a wonderful and relaxing time. Lynn and her staff were so kind and inviting. The room (#4) was extremely warm and nicely decorated, from the flat screen TV, to the antique furniture. We were given all the information needed to enjoy the town upon arrival. Thank you Lynn and staff for a wonderful time and we look forward to seeing you again.

This past weekend we had a Groupon for the Brick Hotel in Georgetown Delaware. Neither of us had been to Georgetown, so did not know what to expect, but their website was intriguing. We were not disappointed. The Brick Hotel is gorgeous. The owner Lynn has really taken the time and effort to make sure your stay here is absolutely wonderful. Lynn and her husband have put a lot of care and attention into updating such a historic building into a comfortable yet authentic place to stay.

Upon our arrival on Saturday, we were welcomed and checked in by Garth since Lynn was out working hard in the gardens. Lynn did take the time to ensure she introduced herself to us when she got in. Garth got us settled into our room, The Lazy Daisy, and gave us a tour of the hotel, then left us on our own. We spent the afternoon exploring the town of Georgetown - let me warn....this is a very small historic town, so not a lot to see other then a court house, an old train station and LOTS of lawyers offices (not sure what that was all about). Later that evening we enjoyed a drink and appetizer at the very warm and inviting bar down in the lobby. Seems this is where all the town lawyers hang out on a Friday night as well, so you get to hear some interesting tales while enjoying your cocktails. We also had dinner in the restaurant which was also very nicely decorated, warm and inviting and live music as well. On Friday night there was a woman playing guitar and singing and on Saturday night there was a piano player. Great ambiance and GREAT food!

Saturday we took a trip into Lewes Delaware which is approx. 12 miles from Georgetown. What a beautiful historic town to while away the hours walking around the little shops, grabbing a bite to eat, touring the historic buildings that have been carefully restored, walking along the waterfront or laying on the beach.

Saturday night we came back and had appetizers in the bar along with a few drinks. It was nice to be able to sit in the big rocking chairs on either one of two decks looking out across the town circle. Lynn and her staff's attention to detail made for a very comfortable and homey stay. Rooms were all decorated tastefully, beds were comfortable and the room was clean. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a romantic weekend away.

The Brick takes the Rehoboth/Georgetown/Sussex County hotelier business and kicks it up a notch. The restaurant is fantastic, the rooms are well-appointed, and the entire thing has an air of classic charm that, to my mind at least, beats anything on offer in Rehoboth. The friendly staff are attentive, and an evening on the veranda, sipping a drink and enjoying the town square makes for a great end to a day's vacation.

We had a few slight issues with our stay, but this really just goes to show what a nice place the Brick can be. They provide complimentary water and snacks in a basket for late-night munchies, but our room didn't have coasters. Since the bedside tables looked to be real (and nice) wood, we were a little worried. Also, the best rooms are most easily accessible by staircases that aren't always easy to navigate, so this may not be ideal for guests of limited mobility.

But if the worst thing you can say about a hotel is that maybe a few coasters were in order, it's pretty great.

Arrived very late, without reservations, and was treated to superior hospitality and a very cozy room (#5) in the 'old' main building. The room looked brand new, from the towel warmer to the flat screen TV; yet it kept that antique charm with period pieces and 'wash basin'. Was also able to also enjoy dinner and highly recommend the petit filet...It was prepared to perfection. Recommend you make reservations in advance.

I spent a two night getaway at the Brick Hotel in Georgetown, Del. I loved every minute of it. The hotel and staff were warm and inviting and our room, The Lazy Parrot, was superb. Complimentary snacks, water, and soda, a heated towel rack, robes and a flat screen tv, along with comfortable beds, comprised our room, as well as a balcony. There were plenty of cozy places to sit, relax and read. A restaurant and bar were on the premises but, since we stayed a Sunday and Monday, the restaurant was closed on Mondays and open only for Sunday brunch, so we missed out on that. (A reason to return, though!)

There is a short walking tour available for Georgetown, but the hotel and charming circle in front of it is the main attraction. However, we easily got to Milton, Lewes, and Rehoboth beach. In Lewes, you can take the ferry over to Cape May for the day. (Check the schedule, as it changes in October.)

Our innkeeper, Lynn, provided plenty of information ahead of time and made sure that we were well looked after. On a practical note, a breakfast of scones, muffins, yogurt, fresh fruit and various drinks is provided daily. There is plenty of parking and everything was in working order. Well done, Lynn and staff!

Thanks SO much for the tree ornament; my only regret is that I didn't have the opportunity to meet you this visit. Not to confuse others, you enjoyed your stay in the Parrot's Perch .... which may be because you were so relaxed you were thinking LAZY! Lazy Daisy was right next door .... easy to get confused by my unusual room names!

Our weekend at the Brick Hotel was wonderful. Lynn is very gracious and the staff is friendly and accommodating. When we forgot the pack-n-play for our baby, Lynn rustled one up and it was in the room ready for us when we got back from dinner. The rooms are pretty and very comfortable, and the second floor patio is addictive as you watch the goings on in the town. But the kicker for us? The upstairs sitting room with a Keurig and real 1/2 and 1/2. For the very early risers in our group, the ability to sit in a comfortable spot and read until everyone arose was priceless! Will definitely be back.
