Killens State Park is a park that offers it all--parkins spaces, pavillions, a disc golf course, hiking loops, sand volleyball courts and open fields. Just remember to bring some cash as you have to pay for parking (if you don't have a state park pass)

“Killen's Pond is a place for families”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2012

We camp here about 3-4 times a year in our tow-behind camper. There is a small playground, horse shoe pits, volley ball net for the active as well as trails leading through the woods and around the pond. I jogged around the pond twice last weekend using two separate routes. It's probably a couple miles around. Good trails and there is a water park on the opposite side (requires fee) with a large water slide. I didn't go to the water park, but it looks fun. Plenty of places to BBQ and have a pick-nick bench lunch. No swimming in the lake, but you can fish there. Bring a canoe or kayak if you have one. We relaxed in the shade of the trees with other friends camping. Good times around a campfire always makes the world seem better. Beware, there are ground bees (I think yellow jackets) everywhere since I was there mid-August and early September, but my son and I were never stung on either trip. My wife had 1 sting, but I think she got the bee caught in her flip-flop.
