“Great Museum”

Tour and guide were very good. A lot of things to see. It was amazing to see what was used "back in time". I recommend visiting this museum.

“Worth a visit if you are in Dover”
Reviewed November 27, 2013

Our friends recommended we stop at the museum for a visit. The 4 of us were the only visitors and we had a great tour of the downstairs which included the Victor products and demonstrations of the talking machines by an employee. Upstairs, a very knowledgeable docent explained more machines in fancy cabinets, and we saw many replicas of the famous dog.

“Delightful exhibits, enthusiast guides”

This gem is a few blocks from the historic section-easy walk. amazing collection of early recording devices-you will leave far more educated! In this age of high tech Ipods, Iphones, etc, this is a refreshing look back.

“Enjoyable stop for 1-2 hours”
Reviewed August 30, 2013

The tour guide was very good talking about the evolution of the product and slang derived from the products. Interesting information about the dog in the brand. Not divulging any more information that would take away from the tour.
Limited hours, so check in advance.

“What a wondeful surprize”
Reviewed July 7, 2013

While traveling home to North Carolina we stopped at The Johnson Victrola museum and what a pleasant surprise and experience it was. The museum tells you the story of The Victor Talking Machine company and its founder Eldridge Johnson. You learn a little about the history of recorded sound and how these early talking machines an phonographs effected so many peoples lives as entertainment in peoples home became ever more popular. It may sound a little dry but our interpreter "Rich" made the tour interesting, funny and a great experience. You get to hear these wonderful old talking machines and victrolas play the music of yesterday and if you like old movies and music you almost feel a part of it. The Mannix's of NC
