You will not find a more pleasant helpful accommodating staff. Amina and Jabree give hope that the concept of customer service is not dead.

This is not a huge luxurious five star hotel with overdone showy amenities that we pay for, but rarely need or use. Instead it's moderately priced with just enough extras and pleasant surprises to keep you pleased. (E.g.,The towels arent huge, but they are thick soft and absorbent.) The sheets were soft and comfortable, and I found no spots or stains on any of the sheets or pillow cases. The room had a black big (40"+) flat screen (plasma?) TV that I wasnt expecting.

Sidebar - It seems like the more expensive the hotel, the less likely they are to include free Wi-Fi. The hotel down the street was $212 + 11 for WiFi. Fairfield includes the wi-fi and you just get on without a pesky password or anything.

I like to eat and the idea of free food is always a treat. When I called around I asked whether the complimentary breakfast consisted of 'a biscuit and a glass of juice'. The hotel across the street said yes. The guy at Fairfield gave me the run down. Hard boiled eggs (go figure), fruit, orange/apple juice, french toast, toast, and other bread selections, Activa and other yogurt selections, cereal and some other items that I may have missed because YOU CAN MAKE YOUR OWN DELICIOUS WAFFLES ON THEIR COOL WAFFLE MAKER!

Basically the Fairfield is a contemporary trendy styled hotel that focuses on your actual comfort without being pretentious or overdone. There is a lounge area in the lobby equipped with a tv and fireplace. Remember Goldilocks? - it's just right.

Stayed at this hotel for one night on the way to a family gathering. This hotel is small with only 60+ rooms. There is a well-decorated and attractive lobby area with a couple of computer terminals opposite the check in desk. There is a large breakfast area behind the lobby.

We checked in just after midnight and the staff was attentive and efficient.

Our room, on the 3rd floor, was clean and comfortable, It had a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. Large flat screen TV. Our room overlooked the road but we didn't hear any noise. Good blackout curtains. Comfortable bed and a lounge chair with ottoman (King bedded room)

If there were any complaints about the room, I didn't like the fact the closet didn't have a door and that there was no coffee table.

There is a small fitness center with 3 or 4 machines by the pool. The pool was warm. Unfortunately, there was no water in the hot tub. A nice touch is that there is a sunny patio outside of the pool area with a few lounge chairs. It views the parking lot but is better than some areas I've seen.

The free breakfast in the morning was nothing special but the staff was attentive and they kept the area clean.

I stayed at the Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriot in Dover on Friday 02/20/09. I bid on Priceline and my $45 bid at 2 stars was accepted. The total price with tax and fees was $56. The staff was friendly and helpful at check in. The room was very nice, clean and newly remodeled. It had a HD TV, free wireless internet, microwave and small fridge. The bathroom was nice except I wish they had a few hooks to hang clothes. The area around the hotel has lots of restaurants and fast food to choose from, and the hotel is about 2 blocks from Dover Downs. The room came with a free basic breakfast. The breakfast bar had waffles, cereal, toast, juice, etc. and was pretty good. The only negative is that the renovation is ongoing, and the hallway and stairwell carpeting showed some construction dust. However, I heard no noise on my Friday night stay. Overall, I enjoyed my stay, and the $56 dollar price was a real deal.

I stayed here when traveling for business and found this hotel to be very clean and the staff to be extremely nice and helpful. The continental breakfast every morning was good and the staff overseeing the breakfast was very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean, shower was clean and I had no issues. I would stay here again.

Hotel and breakfast OK, but the room needed work:: closet door fell off hinges, 2 of the lights in the room did not work, leg on arm chair broken, shower handle fell off. Manager said the room was to be redone. Since the hotel was not full, one wonders why that room was assigned. Perhaps it was because I received it on a discount bid for rate.

Fairfield Inn is a best bet for the Dover-area.

The rooms are basic - but clean, comfortable, and equipped with a frig, microwave, iron and ironing board, and free wireless service.

A complementary breakfast is available: juice, coffee/tea, cereals, bagels, yogurt.

Another nice feature: coffee and tea service in the lobby.

Service is good at the front-desk.

A quibbble with Fairfield is: paper cups in the rooms - neither drinking glasses nor pottery mugs are available.

The price is reasonable, however - the value is sound.
