“Good local food magnolia de”
Reviewed August 10, 2014 via mobile

Had the tuna burger and my wife had the burger salad. Both were good, the tuna was a nice seared raw tuna with teriyaki sauce-good flavor. The cupcake dessert was also good. Nice friendly service, we will be coming back.

“Worth a side trip”
Reviewed July 21, 2014 via mobile

Yes, it's off the beaten path, but definitely very good food. Lots of locals eat here. I had a salmon burger with a big piece of salmon cooked perfectly. My husband's burger was delicious. We chose salad instead of fries. Very good quality. There's a large beer selection. Waitress did a nice job on a busy night.

“Resonable prices for decent food”
Reviewed July 20, 2014

The place has a modern retro old timey feel. We were sat right away and it was pretty busy around 5:15pm on a Friday night. Hubby had the crap dip & chips. It was served ice cold with very thick, greasy tortilla chips that over powered the mild crap flavor of the dip (more of a thick cream cheesy texture & taste). Not a personal favorite & I love crab dip. Especially warm,,,but not cold. I had the BLT salad which had their home made tangy 1000 island, wasn't a fan favorite either. Hubby had the burger au poivre with mashed red skins & broccoli, He said it was good but it was chock full of black pepper. I'm a black pepper lover but there is a such thing as too much pepper when your throat feels the burn. Even though I thought the food was ok, the food presentation was really nice so take a look at the pics. This place has a large unique selection of craft beers, if that's your thing. The potions were generous for the price. Server Zach was really friendly & attentive. Bill was just under $40 (includes a beer).

“Best burgers!”
Reviewed July 7, 2014

Restaurant 55 is a bit off the beaten path, being several miles from downtown, but read on--it is worth the trip. My wife and I both had burgers from the "build your own menu." The meat was fresh and the burgers were almost certain handmade, not machine-formed. The most impressive feature of the meal was how well our burgers were cooked. My wife ordered hers well done, and the chef somehow managed to cook it perfectly--just enough to remove all the pink, but still juicy. Seriously, having tried (and mostly failed) to cook burgers on hundreds of occasions, I know that the margin of error between "well done" and "overdone" is just a few seconds. As if that weren't enough, I ordered my burger medium well, and it was indeed a perfect medium well! Service was also great. The hostess, when there was a lull and she was not busy seating people, was running a sweeper over the carpet in the dining area and performing other tasks. It is little things like this I notice, and that are qualities indicative of a well-run and managed restaurant. Plus, if any of the other menu items are anywhere close in quality to the burgers, Restaurant 55 is quite a find!

“Excellent burgers and cupcakes!”
Reviewed July 1, 2014 via mobile

If you are a burger lover then Restaurant 55 is the place to go in Dover. You can build your own burger from a long list of toppings or choose one of the specialty burgers. Fries are also good. The place is on the smaller side, so expect to wait on a Fri./Sat. nite. Well worth it though.
