Best hotel I've stayed at anyplace near. I've tried everything from Ocean City to expensive joints in Rehoboth, but I really only like the Best Western in Dewey. The staff is friendly and the hotel is clean. Dewey gets too loud, so go off season unless you're planning to rock.

Room tip: Avoid hwy front rooms in peak season, unless you're planning to hang out the widow yelling woo hoo.

We just stayed overnight for a girls weekend. Can walk to the beach on one side and the bay on the other. Some bars/restaurants within walking distance. Since it is winter, the rates are really low. Staff very friendly and couteous

This hotel is perfectly situated in Dewey Beach - half a block to the ocean, and a half a block to the bay. The hotel is a great value for the money, and the staff was very friendly. The free continental breakfast didn't have the best selection, but - hey - its free!

Wife and I travelled all over WY, SD and CO this past summer and received a free night from Best Western. We opted to stay at the Gold Leaf. We were greeted warmly by the front desk even though they knew we were staying for free.

We had reserved a non-smoking King room 212. To our surprise the room had a Jacuzzi tub which worked and we enjoyed. The bed was firm and the room was free of dust and dirt. Donna was our house keeper and room was clean. The room also featured a frig, safe and a microwave. The nightstand lamps had outlets in their bases so we could recharge devices. Thumbs up for that. The TV was sharp and easy to use. Even the windows opened if we wanted to experience the beach a few blocks away.

The free breakfast was a very basic featuring yogurt, assorted cereals, packaged pastries, coffee, tea, etc..

Only negative......if you are handicapped, going into the breakfast room required going up 2 steps. I did not see another way of access.

Thank you Gold Leaf

Room tip: Ask for a room away from the elevator as there's less noise.

The staff was pleasant and friendly. The room was nice and fairly updated. Breakfast was okay, nothing fancy, but there were calories and coffee. The room needed to be aired out (French door was broken and stuck shut) and the in-room refrigerator made a little too much noise, but the beds were comfortable enough that I slept well. The location is very good with beach access close. You can't actually see the beach from the rooms, so don't count on that. Overall I thought it was a good value.
