Great place to visit - enjoy the beach and feel like a welcomed visitor. The lowrise buildings give a village feel compared to the highrise structures on Ocean City

Dewey beach is a small beach right next to Rehoboth beach. There are many restaurants in the area and in the towns nearby . It is kmown that Dewey is frequented by the younger college kids.

Beware!!! If you stay on the coastal highway, you may not sleep much especially if you are facing the street.

I love Dewey Beach because we've always had good family time here. Mom rents a condo every 2 or 3 years and we get together. The beach is busy and family-filled with that "vacation" vibe. There's a nice, clean, smallish boardwalk for souvenir shopping and Rehoboth is nearby for good dining. Dewey Beach is less crowded than nearby Rehoboth or Ocean City, but is lively enough for us. The sand is good for walking, and we saw dolphins most mornings. One day we're pretty sure we saw a whale--3 of us saw it, so it's not just me hallucinating! What kinds of whales are in the Mid-Atlantic in August? I'll have to research that, but anyway, Dewey is nice.

Have to figure out how and where to get a PARKING PERMIT...very irritating. Signs everywhere that they are needed, but no instructions on where and how to get one. We fed the meter all day... $8.00
