We used an online coupon for this restaurant and so wanted to like it because it was a local ethnic restaurant featuring African food. We were there for lunch and, for a while, were the only customers there. As several other reviewers have indicated, the restaurant is located in a somewhat seedy, a bit hard to find strip mall. We ordered several dishes including samosas, curried goat, and their special wings. And then we waited. We didn't mind waiting at first but then hadn't even gotten water or our place settings for quite a while. We loved the food when it finally came, especially the wings and curried goat and the portions were ample. We never got our samosas though and finally gave up on that. We spoke to one of the restaurant's staff about our experience and told her that, based on this experience, we'd sadly never come back. The restaurant has great unrealized potential, but terrible service and a pretty lousy location.

It is in an odd area and kind of difficult to find. The owner knows this, but needed somewhere to get started. With that out of the way, the Simba Tropical Grill is clean, very nice looking, well decorated, and a hidden gem. We went on a Thursday night and were the only ones there for about an hour. The server, Jarvis, was extremely helpful and extremely friendly. If you can look past someone not waiting at the door, you'll have a great time. I'm sure a night where they have live music or something out of the ordinary might look different. There were no girls wearing skimpy clothing. In fact, there were no girls at all.

The prices were a little high. $8.00 for their mixed drink. About $15.00 for most of their entrees except for their sandwiches, which were about $8.00).

I would highly recommend checking this place out. Jarvis is top-notch and knows his stuff. I'm sure the other staff is very good as well. I wouldn't recommend going here expecting a world-class dining experience. I would go here expecting an experience that most places do not offer. It is an East African-themed restaurant and holds true to that. The service is great, the food is great, and the experience is unique. I can't recommend it enough.

As the previous review states, the location is odd, no greeter and extremely slow service on a very quiet night . Our server was delightful...articulate and friendly but a little hopeless. Our meal was actually pretty good. We had the Chicken Curry, Goat Curry, Lamby Fry, Tri tip, flatbread , cabbage and greens. Both curries were delicious. Overall interesting meal, but location and atmosphere are so weird...we won't be back

Not a welcoming place for family with kids, romantic or fine dining experience. They had no host, so you we just sat ourselves and prayed a wait staff miraculously appeared (1) to take our orders. The entrées were not worth what we paid for considering I can cook better food at home. But, the appetizers were great and did not take long to come out (+). The crazy part is, the restaurant did not have half of the items on the menu which was annoying. And don’t expect free refills on sodas which is a damn shame considering fast food offer unlimited refills (when you dine in) love KFC, Wendy’s lol.. It was a Sunday night between 8 & 9 pm and they were playing loud music and skimpy dressed chicks dancing on the floor which ruined my appetite. Overall experience was horrible.
