Stayed here for our wedding anniversary with our 7 month old springer spaniel. I cannot fault it one bit. rooms were very clean, light and airy. Staff were very friendly and the food in the restaurant was faultless! Our dog was welcome in the bar and also whilst we ate. we can't wait to come back!!!

Great food, good quantity, quick service and reasonably priced. Our children chose chicken nuggets from the kids menu and they were real chicken chunks. The kids loved them. I was really glad I'd looked on Tripadvisor before deciding on which restaurant to eat at. This was a great find. It was right next to the road, but I might not have otherwise stopped. We were all so glad we did.

Had eaten here before but never stayed. Our room (4) was somewhat small but had everything that was needed. Food was good enough but I felt that it was not so good as it used to be, could have done with a bit more seasoning, something was missing.
Breakfast was O.K but they had run out of a couple of things? However, the staff were lovely, friendly and helpful and the place was very welcoming in general. The pub is very dog friendly (although we are not dog owners) and 5 of their rooms take pets and half of the bar/restaurant allows pets. It also seemed child friendly. It also serves wonderful beer and has its own small brewery.

Room Tip: Room 4 is quite small - they are very helpful on the telephone so you could ask about the rooms. We...

We were recommended to stop here on our way to Windermere. It is situated just off the main road, a couple of miles away from Windermere. The pub is lovely and the staff very welcoming to both our children and our dog. In fact, our dog got his own bowl of water and some dog biscuits!

We had quite a wait for our food (although you are warned about this as it is all freshly cooked to order) and our children got quite impatient. However, when the food arrived, it was delicious, especially the home cooked chips!

We never got to try the real ales as we were driving. However, we did buy them from the local off licence near where we were staying - very nice they were too!

The only reason I didn't give this pub 5/5 was only because of how long the food took to arrive. However, that aside, it was a perfect place for lunch and we will be back!

Great locals pub with accommodation and it's own award-winning brewery that welcomes dogs ( in fact they've made being dog-friendly almost a usp) Lots of real ale (12+ handpumps) in good nick and huge breakfasts. Dogs can stay in some of the rooms and are welcome at breakfast and in the bar. Well situated for walks (Staveley is about 1.5 hrs walk across the fields & Windermere about half an hour more) Easy to get to - 15 mins from M6. We visit for short breaks once or twice every year.

Spent most evenings of last week at the watermill. Fair to say one of the warmest, most welcoming pubs i have ever been in. Fantastic beers, great food (steak to die for) and excellent hospitality. A happy dog too - lots of attention, biscuits and doggy friends. Will be back soon.

The Watermill at Ings is a fantastic venue for dog owners who wish to take a break with their dogs in a venue with excellent food, great rooms and a microbrewery as well.
The Inn is situated just outside windermere but on a quiet side road.
It is a very poular venue for diners and also for overnight accomodation.
Dogs are very welcome in the bar and can also be taken in the breakfast room if well behaved. The food is hearty and with a changing menu.
There is a car park at the pub which is often full but parking can be found in a nearby lane. (Please be considerate when parking as local residents do not want to be affected by bad parking)
There are walks from the doorstep and newspsapers etc can be purchased from a nearby garage.
The beer is fantastic and themed on dog names. Collie wobble is a good session beer.
I cannot recommend this inn enough.
Unfortunately as i do recommend it to so many people it becomes more difficult to book a room.
Room 8 ia great room as it has a balcony and views across the fields.
This room is also next to the stairway so is great to take the dog out without disturbing anyone else in other rooms.
