“Fab Stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 4, 2014 via mobile

Stayed at this lovely tradional lakeland guest house for 3 nights with my wife and Alfie our dog. We were made to feel so welcome nothing was to much trouble for Rosemary and you could tell straight away that she is a dog lover which made us even happier. We stayed in room 4 for 2 nights and room 3 for 1 night because we decided to stay a extra night because we felt so at home with the place. Both rooms were lovely and you wouldn't think it was a dog friendly guest house because rooms were so clean.
We enjoyed going down for our breakfast each morning and the food was fab, Alfie our dog got a sausage cooked for him each morning and would sit in our car while we had our breakfast waiting quietly for it.
I carnt express enough what a lovely stay we had with Rosemary and her staff at this lovely guest house. Would recommend to anyone. We will return on our next trip to the lakes.

Lovely personal service! Very clean and spacious room. Fantastic breakfast nicely presented. Will definitely be returning when next lucky to visit the lakes. Central location for all attractions. Nice popular local pub with own brewery for meals.

We stayed three nights in a double room (Room 8). Perfectly good room, comfortable bed, power shower and fixtures. All of these made for a very comfortable stay.

Excellent cooked breakfast is provided in the morning. In other words, you enjoy home comforts, away from home! Can't ask for more!

We forgot to unplug our iPhone charger from the wall and realised it only on returning home. A phone call to Rosemary and she located the article, put it in a Jiffy bag and kindly posted it Special Delivery. of course we had promised to reimburse her costs! But the service was outstanding.

Additionally, there is the unique advantage that the Watermill pub with a great selection of real ales and very good food is only two minutes away on foot.

Parking may no be available within the grounds for all their guests but there is ample space along the adjacent road to park safely.

Nothing was too much trouble and therefore we do not hesitate to most strongly recommend Meadowcroft!

Let me start by saying that if ever there is a friendlier B&B owner than Rosemary I've yet to meet one. The better half and I stayed in this charming place while attending a friends wedding in the relatively near by Wild Boar Hotel. When I say relatively nearby it was either £16 or £25 in a taxi. I'm not sure why because that was our fares there and back. Why the difference? Beats me anyway that's got nothing to do with Meadowcroft. Its in a tiny little place called Ings, about three miles from Windermere and perfectly positioned for exploring the lovely countryside of the Lake District. As I said we received a very warm welcome from Rosemary and she really does expect you treat it like home when you're there. Rooms are a little but small but functional and very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was cooked to a pre-ordered menu and was extremely tasty with plenty of choice and also, toast, cereal and the like for those watching the waist-line or counting the calories. The village pub along the road called The Watermill is excellent. Serving its on-site real ales and great pub grub. Meadowcroft is not what most people would class as a five star hotel. If you want that, stay at a Hilton. If you're looking for quaint, country house feel, with a warm comfy bed and an even warmer welcome look no further. I would have no hesitation in staying here again and would whole heartedly recommend this B&B to anyone. First class.

Room Tip: Room no 7 is perfect for a couple.

Great location, just a couple of miles from Windermere. The host was very welcoming and very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Room was very clean (room 1), although you could here the people in the room above. Breakfast was excellent, had a wide variety on offer, which set you up for the day. Would definitely stay again.

Have just got back from a 4 night stay at Meadowcroft. The room was lovely (room 9), big enough for myself and other half plus one large cocker spaniel.
Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice of cereals and just the right size cooked breakfast. Rosemary was very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble, Would definitely recommend this B&B to family and friends, especially dog owners.
In addition, the village pub, The Watermill, is two minutes down the road, serves very good food and brews it's own beer as well as allowing dogs.

This B&B is situated in a small village near Windermere. Our room number 9 overlooked the garage next door and thankfully the widow was double glazed. The room itself was average and the bed was a small double. We felt cold in our room and had to ask the owner to provide heating. The parking was off street, however only suitable for smaller cars. This B&B prides itself with catering for dog owners so if you are not into dogs find somewhere else. The breakfast offered variety and was on par with similar B&Bs in the UK.

Room Tip: The bed in room 9 was a small double which was a tight fit for two adults. The window overlooks a pe...
