We stayed in Vendeen Lodge at the end of February for a week with our 3 and 5 year old children. Whilst there are no facilities for children on site, it being primarily aimed at adults, we had a lovely weeks holiday. There are currently seven lodges on site with spaces ready for three more. Vendeen is at the far end of the site and the hot tub is to the rear affording a good level of privacy. The visitors book echoes the excellent reviews on Tripadvisor. We particularly liked the comfortable beds, solid oak furniture in the living room and bedrooms, the electric reclining sofas (our children liked them so much we had to hide the leads!) and of course the wonderfully relaxing hot tub. The weather was surprisingly good for February - the last five days were cloudless blue skies but cold. The location was fantastic - Cartmel is a pretty village and being only 15 miles from Bowness on Windermere there was plenty to see and do. We visited Muncaster Castle, the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway, took a steamer trip on Ullswater, visited the South Lakes Wild Animal Park, the Pencil Museum in Keswick and the Beatrix Potter Attraction in Bowness. All in all a fantastic holiday and we'd happily return to Vendeen Lodge again.

We stayed at Meadow's End Lodges, in Herdwick Lodge for 4 nights in February. The log cabin was like a hotel inside! - lovely furniture and decor. A surprise that some tea, coffee, and milk was provided. Also Kendal mint cake & a most delicious Cartmel sticky toffee pudding. Loved the hot tub & that we were so blessed to have clear skies to see shooting stars and constellations. The log burner was so cosy - be prepared to buy some more wood at a local garage. We will most definitely be returning & will recommend to family & friends. Our holiday was helped by gorgeous sunshine - so it doesn't always rain in the lakes!!!!

Just returned from Meadow's End Lodges. Fantastic from start to finish. Stayed in Herdwick Lodge for 4 nights. The lodge was spotless and had plenty of space for the two of us. Had little extras such as tea, coffee, sugar milk. Also Kendal mint cake & a little sticky toffee pudding. Especially enjoyed the hot tub & the huge bath in the en suite. Made the most of the hot tub morning, noon & night. The log burner was amazingly hot. Had to open the door in the end. Was very tranquil and relaxing. The best lodge we have stayed in so far. Beautifully decorated. Will most definitely be returning & will recommend to family & friends.

Booked the Radnor lodge for me and my husband. What a fantastic lodge, very well equipped and lovely furnished. It was so quiet and relaxing the hot tub and log burner aided our relaxation! Cartmel village is 2 minute drive in the car it would be a 15 mins walk if go out at night take a torch it's pitch black ! We had two very nice and well priced meals at the kings arms and royal oak. As a gesture we were left a cartmel sticky toffee pudding ... The proof is very much in the tasting ...yummy! We will definitely return - fantastic holiday break ! Thank you :)

We stayed in the Vendeen Lodge for 4 nights. This is the 3rd Autograph lodge we have stayed at through Hoseasons and it has to be the best! The lodge was immaculate on arrival and lovely and warm. There were nice little touches like the sticky toffee pudding, kendal mint cake, tea, coffee and sugar along with everything needed to get the log fire going. The hot tub was absolutely fantastic - we have had all kinds of weather including snow but this didnt stop us from enjoying the hot tub every day. The lodge is in a great location for exploring the lake district. Just remember to breath in when driving on the narrow roads! Overall a great week away in a fantastic lodge!

we will definately be recommending this place to friend and family.

Room Tip: The Vendeen lodge appears to be the biggest on the site, located at the rear which allows for privacy with the hot tub.
