recently my partner and i went for a meal at the Oak On The Green in Bearsted .the food was brilliant ,we both had steaks ,i had a fillet which was so large i did not know that you could get fillet steak that big ,but not only that the taste was terrific ,and we could not fault the food . We went on a Saturday night ,and i wish we had gone in the week as it was full to the brim with families out celibrating which was nice for them ,but much two much noise for two old timers such as ourselves .Nice place and very good food ,but if you want a more peacful meal go in the week .

A realy great place to eat, although make sure you book your table well in advance as they are often very busy. Good selection on the menu and really cosy place. Be warned that it is quite dimly lighted, but really adds to the atmosphere of the place. Very generous helpings in terms of food, no need for extra sides.

Took my 87 year old dad for lunch on Friday, what a joy! Great real ale, great food, dad had an enormous porterhouse steak which was delicious but he couldn't eat all of it, the superb staff wrapped it up to take home. The staff were so attentive, made us feel like princes! Will go back.

A beautiful traditional english pub, with good food at great prices.
We visited on a Monday lunch time around 12.30 and found it to be very busy.
There is an extensive menu but we decided to go for the set menu for £19.99 for 3 courses.
We were told that the set menu is for group bookings only but they did accommodate us with our choice.
Massive portions, tasty food, and great service.
We will be returning to this pub in the near future.

Food is excellent and large servings. It is not speedy service, but it is worth the wait. Drinks are costly, but food is worth it. You can sit in or outside depending on weather. I would recommend this pub as we had a meal last year as good as what we had this year.
