Oak remains a firm favourite among the locals for its food and traditional charm. Its a period building set along the village green in Bearsted which itsef is one of the most beautiful villages in Kent.
The food is generally excellent, fresh of local origin and cooked to perfection. I had my wife, son and daughter for an early dinner and we all enjoyed the place and meal immensely. There is plenty to chose from and generally the portion are good sized. It was not crowded and the staff was attentive and service was prompt.
It is advisable to try out the local fare like lamb, steaks and prawns since the local pubs have become exceptionally good in cooking such stuff.
Being a traditional pub, it becomes crowded over the weekend so it would help if you can avoid the rush time and visit during the week days
