Lovely pub, understand has been updated recently. The food was excellent, starters and desserts outstanding but portions much too big!!!Plentiful selection on the carvery, with good choices available.Live events are held here, and its a place I would definitely make my local if I lived in the area. Both Steve the boss, and Joe the manager are pleasant characters.

Have been amazed today at the transformation of a pub that in the old days we would have avoided, we will now go there every week, the carvery was lovely, couldn't do better myself. It was as good as a home cooked roast, followed by a lovely dessert which was was refreshingly light, after such a lovely roast. The waitress was very cheerful and made our visit a joy to be there, The pensioners weekday deal is brilliant! £4.95 for the carvery, with either a starter or dessert.
Will recommend this pub to my friends. Well done Lion of Kent!

We visit on a monday evening for my grandmothers birthday, as expected was quiet and was the only table in, (was 8 of us) Service was friendly and fast, We ordered Starters all which were generous portions and the waitress said would we mind waiting 10 minutes before having the carvery as they was in the process of refreshing the entire lot just for us! Would never get that in another resturant! We did'nt have dessert as brought our own cake which the waitress had no issues taking to the kitchen for us to be sliced and served.

Have visited a few more times since and have always been pleased.

We went to the Lion of Kent on a cold Friday evening. The pub restaurant was warm and cosy and the owner greeted us and was very friendly. After looking through their mouthwatering menu we decided on the "steak meal for 2 and a bottle of wine".
The meal was superb, a large helping, tasty and very enjoyable and at only £29 !!
We will definately be calling again soon to try the carvery.
We also got some tickets for their New Year Eve's party night and we will be looking forward to ringing in the new year with the Lion of Kent.
