“Good Local Deli”
Reviewed September 21, 2012

Katz's Deli is a good local choice when the mood for deli hits you. They do all of the expected deli meats soups and sides. I am partial to the rare roast beef and brisket. Their soups are all good. The chicken soup with matzo is a favorite. The space is bright and well lit. Waitstaff is helpful and cordial. Prices portions and quality are average. One note. I've been to Katz's later in the day for dinner on occasion. It sometimes looks like it needs sprucing up. Floors have been sticky. Napkins and straw wrappers on the floor uncleared tables etc. There are other places that do deli just as well. Katz's covers all of the bases, so you have more choices

“Good NYC style deli.”
Reviewed September 6, 2012

We enjoyed the corned beef and the pastrami at Katz's. The bread was wonderfully fresh, and the meat portion was generous. The menu reflects traditional Jewish delis, but there are other choices as well. The prices are somewhat high, almost $25 for two sandwiches and a pound of pickles. But when craving NYC style deli sandwiches, this really hits the spot.

“Expensive but once you get your food you find out why.”
Reviewed September 5, 2012

Mmmmmmm delicious food. You better come to katz starving because the portions are HUGE. My turkey and cheese on a hard roll with tomato mayo and pickles couldnt fit in my big mouth haha the sandwich felt like holding a brick. I cant believe how much deli meat goes on the sandwich. It is like eating a week long portion of meat in one sandwich but boy is it good. You will most likely eat every last bit. Beware though it cost us $20 for just two sandwiches (we didn't even get drinks)!!!!

“Absolutely Awful”
Reviewed August 26, 2012

Connecticut magazine highlighted this deli recently. After reading the review we drove an hour from our home and the food was not edible! We often go to New York for deli (2nd Ave Deli, Katz's NY) and the offerings at Katz's in Woodbridge was a complete disappointment. Real NY deli's do not serve sliced pickles and the pastrami sandwich I was served was a plate of Fat - not real deli pastrami. What a sad event since we were so excited to have a deli experience in Ct.
