“Great Stay”

Great value. Clean, secure apartment with balcony right on the beach. Breakfasts were well prepared and ample. Kitchenette in room was handy and well equipped. Hosts were very helpful. Enjoyed the opportunity to visit with other guests. Location was only about 3/4 hour from Merida and convenient to Progreso and other local beach towns but a car is recommended. Away from the hustle of busy beach sites but still within easy driving distance. English is widely spoken so no language problems. I will definitely return.

“First visit.....NOT the last!!”

It doesn't get much better!

"The Flamingos Inn is a B&B that has a charming and authentic Mexican feel. Truly a unique setting far from the big tourist areas of Cancun and Playa del Carmen. Well worth the drive from Cancun if you don't fly into Merida. We stayed in MAR, the top floor with fantastic views of the Gulf. We could see from Chuburna to the world's largest pier in Progreso. The accommodations are clean, comfortable and everything is supplied. Anything you need is nearby, you have to go no further than Merida (1/2 hour) to have all the conveniences of a large city. There are many local restaurants in Chuburna, Chelem and Progreso and even dinner delivered.....so you never have to cook if that is your wish. The local food is outstanding! The breakfasts served are different every day and Stig is an outstanding cook. Portions are large.....you won't need lunch!"

Tip:
"I recommend having a car. If you have any concerns about where to rent, as I did, Stig will make those arrangement for you. This is even taken care of if you are flying into Cancun. There are many sites to see, from archeological sites to the Celestun Biosphere Reserve.
Your host, Stig, is as unique as his B&B. He is the most helpful, outgoing and kindest person you will ever meet. Whatever you need he will know where to get it for you. Your comfort and happiness are his highest priority and he is truly in his element running a beautiful B&B.
We will be back.....more than likely to stay and retire there."
