We went there for the Sunday Buffet and we were sorely disappointed in almost every regard.
The price and address suggests upscale and that's where it ends. Limited selection for non meat eaters. The buffet tables had no vegetable dishes, the cold salads were prepared and served in bowls and the caesar was a wilting bed of romaine. By appearance, if not by taste, many dishes appeared to be pre-prepared foods from the bacon to turkey. The salmon, lamb and beef on the carving station were tempting but also unseasoned and not tender to the pallet. Sad to say I found that the food was almost tasteless. The coffee wasn't the only item on the buffet that was hardly warm at best. Deserts were run of the mill. A nice fruit platter of melon, grapes and pineapple was a welcome option against a the range of cakes and a cookie option. I must mention the table service was attentive and on going throughout the meal.
The Red Barn has been around for a long time. In earlier times it was a much more inviting and attractive place for a Sunday buffet. The crowds were there so in fairness either I'm being too fussy or perhaps it is that the Red Barn is the only show in town for this type of Sunday gathering.

This place could be great. Excellent location, next to the parkway. Beautiful old building, with wall decorations straight out of an antique store. But...but...but.

The place is very poorly lit; difficult to see what your're eating, unless you're seated near a window for brunch.

Prix fixe Sunday Brunch menu is well put together & is served buffet style. However, you get what you pay for, I guess. Gristle-ridden, tepid roast beef; stay with the ham. Avoid the home fries. They look good, but have the consistency of pulp, when you eat them. Lox is good, but bagels are precut & dried out. Salad is OK. Dessert table more than adequate, but most offerings were overly sweet. Stay with the cookies. They were good.

The mixed drinks included in the prix fixe brunch were a joke. They weren't Bloody Marys, more like Virgin Marys. After tasting our drinks, we declined the waiter's offering of a glass of champagne.

Service staff performance was OK. (But they were always ready to grab your plate, if you didn't hold on to it.)

If you're craving a prixe fixe brunch on a Sunday at this place, go for the first seating not the second. The food will be fresher that way.

This place has "pretensions of grandeur." Too bad it doesn't live up to its own expectations.

Had a graduation party here. They offered a price fix menu with numerous choices. The steak is tender, tasty and cooked to perfection. Best chicken parm anywhere. Owner managed assures excellence!! Great value!

We had not been here in years but we had an event to attend in Westport and met another couple for dinner. The restaurant is right off the Merritt Parkway which made it very convenient for both couples. We arrived @ 5:15 in order to have a leisurely dinner. It was a cool, damp evening and we asked to be seated in a warm area so; we were right in front of the beautiful fireplace! The wait staff was efficient and attentive. We opted to order from the special menu...$49 for two which included a bottle of red or white wine, a choice of soup or salad, an entree (choices included a beef, chicken, fish and pasta option), dessert and coffee or tea. The meal was excellent! The price was terrific and the ambiance of the building was wonderful. Would definitely come here again if we are traveling into the area.
