We haven’t been for awhile after overdoing it and pleased to see it’s still one of Westport’s best. We arrived at 6:45 and only had to wait a few minutes before outside seating opened up at one of the communal tables. The food was as delicious and creative as we remembered it. The four of us shared 5 small plates and a dessert and left perfectly sated and happy. At the recommendation of a table mate (and Esquire magazine) we tried the deviled eggs. Not being a fan of deviled eggs I was shocked at the sublime flavors and textures that flooded my mouth, complemented by the fried oyster on each. The crab toast has almost too much brightly flavored and moist crab meat. The shaved pork on pasta was amazing, as were the roasted potatoes. We finished off with the fried chicken sandwich followed by a slice of the olive oil cake with peaches and cream on the side. We couldn’t agree on which dish was the best. The wines and specialty cocktails are also well done. At about $50 per person, it was well worth it. Save a little room to cross the plaza for a scoop of Saugatuck Sweets ice cream to savor overlooking the water.
