A couple times a year my wife and I drive from New Hampshire to the West Haven Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Before we return home we stop for lunch at the Duchess Diner. The food is delicious, the service is wonderful. And the portions are huge. We are really made to feel at home and what we can't eat there we box for dinner after we complete the return trip. For some reason we find diners the place to eat in Connecticut and we love it. If I were a patient in the medical center I would walk the few blocks or take a wheelchair if necessary to get meals at the diner.
