“enjoyed this place”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

The food was very good, the bartenders were excellent and we had a seat that allowed for a really nice view of the water. It was a nice way to spend an evening. Very extensive menu - our party of four had lobster, prime rib, swordfish and stuffed sole. All was excellent - and beyond filling. The portions are huge.

One thing to make note of: There is a 15 percent gratuity added on for parties of 4 or more. No one told us this and we almost ended up giving the server much more than the 20 percent we had planned on.

“Great food!”
Reviewed June 26, 2013

The food was very good! There are plenty of items on the menu to chose from. Make sure you're seated with a view of the ocean.

“Disappointing Lobster Roll”
Reviewed June 18, 2013

Jimmies has always been a family favorite for their wonderful hot lobster roll. However I think that Jimmy (if he is still around) would cringe at the ones served today. What used to be a toasted hot dog bun heaped with chunks of lobster and melted butter is now a plain hot dog roll, with stringy lobster pieces..no chunks...and melted butter...half the size of the ones in previous years but 3 X the cost. The head staff for seating were very indifferent to the point of rude. Our waitress was very pleasant and accommodating. Sadly, I will not return!

“The Bucket List of Sea Food....”
Reviewed June 14, 2013

Raised not far from the shore, I have only the warmest memories of Jimmie's sea food dinners since childhood. Now, no visit home is complete without a pilgrimage to Jimmies for his famous fried whole clams, or Clam Belllies, as we've always called them. This place is worth a trip from almost anywhere for true sea food aficionados....Grilled, broiled or fried - although fried has received a bad rap lately, go for it - definitely worth the cholesterol! Biggest scallops I've ever seen, too. Servings are huge, vistas of Long Island Sound priceless. The only possible knock on the whole place might be that the drinks seemed to be a bit on the "watered down" side, not unusual for many restaurant bars these days. Other than that, Jimmie's hasn't missed a step in over 40 years.....

“For Fresh Seafood Lovers”
Reviewed June 10, 2013

Location on the Sound - a favorite for us. Due to rain, we could not use the beachside patio. Skip the meat but dinner is a good value, low cost for fresh, generous portions of fish and seafood.Meal includes bread, salad or soup and entree with potato, rice or broccoli. Portions are gigantic. Most patrons left with "doggy bags". Known for their fried seafood platters which looked amazing. We had grilled (choice of grilled, broiled or blackened) swordfish with house cut fries and broccoli. All prepared to perfection. Plain and simple - not swimming in butter or sauces. Order fish "rare" - will be prepared to order. The chef knows fish! (Irresistable desserts too) Prompt, friendly services. We had enjoyable evening.
