“Pedestrian friendly town center”

The greatest part about this place is that you can park your car and walk from place to place. In fact, it's worth braving the rush hour traffic through hartford EVERY day just to live here :)

“No real charm”

but at least it saves a trip to downtown Hartford, which it basically has severely impacted. why bother going downtown except for the theater.

“An Upscale, Easy Town for Walking, Shopping, People-Watching, Eating.”
Reviewed April 7, 2012

It's fun to walk through the Center and over to the Square; A lively and upscale, walkable town, it's very near my Hartford neighborhood. I hope it will learn to welcome the diversity of this region. Parking needs to be cheaper, and public bathrooms should definitely be provided in a town like West Hartford.

“A must do. Especially on a beautiful day.”

Best shopping and dining options around. You can't help but enjoy yourself - people watching, window shopping, outdoor dining. A destination.

“Excellent Place to Shop, Eat, and People Watch.”
Reviewed December 30, 2011

Blue Black Square, as well as West Hartford Center, has so many stores to poke into and a huge assortment of restaurants to choose from. It has become a mecca for West Hartford residents as well as people from miles around. Unlike many Connecticut towns that close early, both locales (really just one big downtown) are bustling with activity from the eateries an bars into the night. It's sometimes hard to find a parking place! I have many friends that will spend a day there because of the stores, such as Crate and Barrel, and fun places to eat, such as The Cheesecake Factory. There is a large Barnes & Noble, the public library, and even Pinkberry. A great place to spend time.
