Moe's is a nice little casual place to take the family and some friends for casual southwest meal. The ingredients are always fresh and you will get your money's worth. If you like southwest food Moe's is your place. They even have coupons you can get by signing up for their newsletter. My latest was a $10 coupon that didnt expire for almost 2 months. They also have specials on beer and sort of a happy hour for those who want to catch a game or two with friends. Moe's has always been consistent with it's food and service.

It is cafeteria style, in Blueback Square in West Hartford. A mix of shoppers, cops (near the station) and student types. It was okay. The menu has a lot of possible permutations of variations on the same ingredients... rice, salad items, beans, a few meats and tofu, cheese, guacamole, tortillas, etc. You can make a lot of different things from these, obviously, so they offer everything from a burrito array to a rice bowl to salads made to order.

The servers are nice and are pretty quick. The portions are not overly large (one would unlikely to ever stagger out with a doggie bag) but are enough. The tacos are on the small side, and the salads pretty fresh. The offer a smallish portion of free tortilla chips (and I am sure you can probably request more) and have a good array of fresh salsas at a side bar to dip them in. That is usually bustling and you may have to wait while people deliberate over selections from the four or five available. Self-serve drinks and utensils are also in that area, so the congestion can actually be a problem.

There are booths and tables. We had to clean our table; it may have been wiped but not well and was kind of icky. However, the place is clean enough, just a bit understaffed.

So it is okay for a quick meal, but NOT a great Mexican restaurant. Convenient and inexpensive for the area.

It's a great place, and always cheers you up to hear someone at the counter call "Welcome to Moooes!!" when you walk through the door. It's slightly different from Chipotle, which is just a block or two away, perhaps a little greasier, less fresh, but somehow not in a bad way. Still delicious, and much more personal.
