You'll need to survive the Tanzanian roads to get there from the airport (although the route in isn't as manic as the other way towards Arusha), but once you do get there, Rivertrees is a lovely spot to unwind and do very little. Rooms are large, four poster beds have complete mosquito nets, and the gardens are lush and verdant. The restaurant does good pizza, and Tanzanian beer goes down very smoothly; wine list is very modest, though. Staff are friendly, but give yourself time to check out, as it's a laboured process, and make sure the receipts match what you ordered at the restaurant. With Arusha National Park and Kilimanjaro nearby, it's an ideal place to base yourself at for either attraction.
