Description: Dinner is by reservation only: Friday & Saturday at 7 p.M. And Sunday at 6 p.M (April through December). Alcohol is BYOB only. There is no corkage fee. Credit cards are not accepted - cash or check only. Our "special concept" restaurant is not unlike a dinner party at a friend's house. Guests expected to arrive promptly, bring a bottle of a wine, and take their seats for a unique dining experience... Rather than being shown a menu, guests at RSVP are served a carefully selected and prepared five-course experience that typically includes a soup and a poultry course, followed by fish or seafood, a meat dish and, finally, dessert. In an intimate setting, guests can see it all as Chef Guy Birster executes as a "one-man band" from within his open kitchen.

This restaurant is one of Connecticut's most well kept secrets. A small building with a french themed decor is the home of one of if Connecticut's best chefs. The experience begins with a warm , friendly by the restaurants front of house Charles and you instantly smell multiple beautiful fragrances coming from the cook Guy's elegant creations. He serves courses from potato leek fennel soup to steak tar tar, and each and every course is perfect. The greatest sight is seeing this great maestro chef preparing your food in front of you with incredible precision ! It truly is a great time, if you anywhere near this classy restaurant it is worth the reservation

My husband and I have been enjoying this gem for a number of years. Our dinners never fail to impress. And, we always look forward to the clever company of Guy and Charles.

We have been going here for about 10.5 years at least 2-3 times a month. They just celebrated their 11th year and in the restaurant business that is an eternity. Not fancy but the best food you will find anywhere, but you do not order off a menu because there isn't one . Most people who dine here come often so most people know each other. The two partners who own the restaurant Chef Guy, and Charles the Maitre de are there to make sure you have great food and an enjoyable time. It's one seating, at 7 PM on Friday and Saturday and 6 PM on Sunday BYOB, cash or checks only. Guy is an amazing chef and comes up with some the most tasty and creative dishes. Dinner is usually 5-6 courses with two deserts of classic French food. You must call for reservations as they only take 14-15 people each night so don't waste your time just dropping by. If you are a "foodie" and can get in you will have a great time and it is casual dress if you want to fit in.

This is one of those places that so few know. There is no web site, no ads, and if you do call, they return calls only if they have room for you. We found out about RSVP chatting with a couple at the next table at the Community Table in Washington CT. Not fancy at all, but warm and friendly. Feels more like a club than a restaurant. Friday we were there, half the room were folks who never miss a week there. They all know each other, hugs, kisses all around. Chef Guy, and Charles the maitre de are their friends too. No attitude in the air, feels more like a private house than a restaurant. It's one seating, begins at 6:30 or so, BYOB, cash or checks only. There is no menu. It's whatever Guy does that day, and what that is is 9 - 12 courses of classic French served in tasting size servings. A surprise with every dish, all somewhere between sublime and excellent. The evening evolves slowly, people talk, share wine across tables, friends are made. The three hours pass in perfection. Hugs and smiles out the door. Unforgettable.
