“Typical Hibachi with decent rolls”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 8, 2012

A place the kids love...typical hibachi antics that are always pleasing for children of any age. The hibachi food was great, and the hand rolls were very good. I did find that the portions were smaller than some other hibachi places we have visited but the prices were the same or higher. Food and drinks were great, the restaurant (including restrooms) were very clean, and the staff was very friendly.

“Unique hibachi in Waterbury area.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 21, 2012

Hana offers the unique hibachi atmosphere which is probably the way to go here. It is easy to be entertained by the show provided. The food itself is nothing extraordinary so if you want authentic sushi or the like, it won't be your favorite. They do offer a lot of different things, and some are good, but there are better ones out there. We sat at the bar and I guess one of the bartenders was training as he was a bit lost behind the bar and didn't know how to make basic drinks. This place offers a great happy hour with half price rolls and such but other than that it is a little more expensive than most sushi places. I totally understand it being loud in a hibachi restaurant which is totally fine, but the place does birthday singing which is a little out of control. The staff sings, which is great, but a few of them feel shouting as loud as possible is part of it. If you were to go, stick to happy hour.

“Not the best for sushi, everything else is ok.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2012

Sushi and "chinese" menu items are mostly fried or labeled as spicey which means with mayo. Sushi preparation has been tailored for american eating habits so they lose a bit of authenticity. Otherwise, the restaurant is clean, service is excellent, and the steak menu seems to be complete although we didn't try anything from it. There are three separate dining areas plus a comfortable and spacious sushi bar.

Prices were reasonable. Our dinner for two cost $70 plus tip and that included appetizers and a drink. Basic rolls were only a few dollars and they offer a weekday half price happy hour on certain items.

It didn't quite meet our expectations, but you may find it to be a good experience. Kids will get a kick out of the steak grille/tables.

“Really good sushi!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2012

The beef negamaki was tender and delicious & the edamame was cooked perfectly. Try the assorted tempura, which was light & flavorful & the presentation was great. We had several of the specialty rolls which were fresh, delicious & a work of art. Prices varied from $5-16 depending on which roll you go for, but it is worth the price. I have been here a few times & it has been a consistently good experience.

“Surprising quality with excellent food and fun”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2011

We have been to Hana twice in the last 3 months, it's been great both times, I was expecting some kind of Disney adventure at the hibachi table but it actually was a lot of fun!

The food is great, high quality and fresh.

I recommend the gyoza appetizer before you have your main course...we had steak and shrimp and they were really really good. I have left stuffed both times and everyone in our party really liked it.

Will go back for sure.
