We have been lucky enough to have a brother-in-law with a lot of points at this casino and he recently treated us and another family member to an overnight stay at this luxury hotel. We stayed in a suite- complete with a beautiful view of the river, 2 large rooms, and a bathroom suite nearly the size of a NYC studio apartment. There was a Keurig in the kitchen area- too. Our aunt and uncle stayed in one of the apartment sized end suites which was absolutely stunning and embarassingly spacious! The indoor pool is top notch and has a well stocked bar around it, the gym is state-of-the-art and an Elemis spa and salon tops off the memorable experience. The surrounding restaurants are not to be missed- loved Bobby Flay's Bar American and hit Frank Pepe's pizza twice (soooo good!!). The kids love it there and the arcade is pretty loose- nice training for future gamblers... Great getaway that makes you feel you were faraway than you actually were.

We stayed 2 nights in a suite, and had a great time. We checked in when we arrived at 12:30. and were told are room was not ready, but it should be ready in an hour. However she suggested we come back and get the key at 2:30 to be sure. We came back to the key pickup area at 2:45 and room was still not ready. I asked what happened, and was told that check in is technically 4pm so they were not late. I showed him my paperwork saying 2:30 so yes they were late. He was not very friendly and I found his attitude a bit annoying.
The room was great, and very clean. The bell service was very fast, and they even asked if I needed a fridge or microwave for the room. We declined, but it was nice to be asked,
We ate at the buffet, Summer Shack and Pepe's Pizza. All were great in there own way.
We love the casino and restaurants here, and cannot wait to stay again.

Room Tip: Ask for a river view.

We stayed at Mohegan Sun for a night at the end of August. We stayed in a suite which was very nice; two rooms with a beautiful bathroom. It was expensive; around $400/night, so we just stayed one night and that was enough time to put the kids in the play space they have and enjoy some time alone.

We first went swimming to the indoor pool, which is attached to a large outdoor patio, and then at night dropped the kids off at the play space and went out to dinner, etc. The kids did not want to leave! It was very safe; they are locked inside and can only get out through the registration desk when you pick them up. The staff were great too. All the info. is on their website.

We are not big gamblers, so there is a little shopping mall and some nice restaurants; perfect for one night. We did register at the casino for future visits, and the next week received a $100 OFF hotel stay via email, so definitely register at the casino for their club/rewards. Overall we liked it and would go back, probably with friends or family.

Mohegan is new, resort like, nice to look at, fairly clean, and drinks keep flowing if you go to the right spots. Foxwoods feels like a 1992 cruise ship.

I just did the casino and not the hotel.

Mohegan Sun offers a beautiful hotel with excellent rooms and accomodations. We also attended their convention center and was a beautiful setup. We also attended a catered event in their concert hall and was again excellent. I would strongly recommend this hotel for its rooms, service and restaurant options. While the layout is confusing and is easy to get lost, it is not a bad place to get lost in!!!!

My husband and I spent the night at Mohegan Sun ( August, 2010), we had a blas! It was the night before the big Hurricane so the place was not too packed. We had a lovely King Bed room with a river view. The bed was comfy. We did have to call down and request foam pillows, I am allergic to feathers. The pillows came to our room in no time at all. They also brought us overnight kits that had a toothbrush, toothpaste, dedorant , shaving stuff, a small vanity kit and a comb. It was very nice, you can request an overnight kit when you check-in, they are free.
The bathtubs in the room are huge and perfect for soaking. My only complaint - there were not enough towels ( they only game us 3, you can request more)

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a high floor with a view, also try to arrive before the standard check-in time, yo...

This is the second time this summer we stayed on premises. In the past we opted for nearby hotels but after staying there and experiencing the Mohegan Sun hospitality we are hooked. The rooms are lovely, the spa is very nice, the pool area is relaxing and the restaurant choices are great. Both times we traveled with our children ages six and eleven. The kids camp kept them very entertained as did the arcade and pool area. The hotel staff is delightful and courteous. The casino staff is also great. Shopping in the stores is an added bonus. Try Bobby Flay's and Michael Jordan's for great dining. The prices can be high in the restaurants and for a room but it is definitely worth it for that special weekend get away.
