Recently visited Mohegan Sun CT for a Conference. After settling in we wanted to get dinner. There are lots of restaurant choices some upscale but having just traveled 4 hours by car, we looked for something more casual. We chose the Lansdowne Pub as it looked comfy and had a nice low lit atmosphere. Decent background music, TV at the bar, and not too loud. Pretty extensive Irish themed menu, also with variety of typical pub food. Service was pleasant. Very good cocktails and nice beer selection! We both ordered the thin sliced roast beef sandwich with fries. Very good. I would definitely recommend the Lansdowne.

We moved out of the area but usually visit Mohegan once or twice a year. This restaurant has become out 'go to' here. Most restaurants are extremely overpriced or limited menus but we find there are ample food choices for most, good drinks, & prices reasonable for a casino. Our recent visit did not disappoint. Like the Irish pub atmosphere - low lighting, tables, booths, stools - options for any size group. Live music is decent when you can catch it. Over time, we've tried several dishes from Fish&Chips, Portobello Museum & meat burgers, Chicken Pot Pie, Bangers & Mash, potato skins, chowder etc - all very good and decent portions. Service has always been friendly and efficient. Will be back!

There really was not anything Irish about it. Well, maybe in appearance and name.

This is why I was disappointed. Fish and Chips for $16.00 was billed as "LIGHTLY BATTERED COD FISH, PUB CHIPS, COLESLAW, TARTAR SAUCE, & LEMON". You hope that because they are near the New England North Atlantic Ocean, where Cod is harvested, and so many local seaside dives get it right, coupled with the fact that the concept of 'Fish & Chips’ originated and has been perfected in the British Isles ...of which Ireland is one and this restaurant portends an expectation. But unfortunately, the fish was heavily battered, soaking up and holding oil, with a ratio of twice the batter to amount of fish. That Cod broke up into greasy crumbs that further added to the amount of oil consumed which greatly added to the caloric ingestion of the meal.......which also helps to explain why so many people walking around the beautiful Mohegan Sun Marketplace are so overweight and at risk for diabetes and other ailments. Whether consumption of this food contributes to the weight gain of those customers, or the simple attraction of those people to places that serve portions 2 to 4 times the size necessary for a meal... causes this epidemic of obesity in America.... which discussion probably belongs elsewhere.

Let me not forget to mention the mound of fries, less greasy than the oil soaked battered fish, that was three times the amount necessary.

The sad result of this review is that some readers may want to visit Lansdowne Irish Pub because of what I wrote.......

The best part of the meal was the lemon slice. It was real, tangy and refused to soak up the grease and oil. The water was also excellent!

We did not have a reservation but only waited a short time for a table. The prices were reasonable and the food good. It took a long time for the food to be served and a birthday dessert.

I attended a retirement party for a co-worker here on a Thursday night. It was very quiet. We had the entire backroom to ourselves and they easily accommodated the party of 45. I noticed a stage in the back right corner so they must have live music on some nights. The pub is located in the Mohegan Sun Casino and it's a bit of a walk from most of the parking areas.

We had a set menu to chose our meal from. For the appetizers, I sampled the chicken wings and potato skins. I was pleased with both. I ordered the fish and chips. It consisted of a huge thick piece of deep fried fish and a large portion of French fries. The fries weren't seasoned but they weren't greasy either. I was satisfied. Many of my co-workers had burgers and they were very pleased. There was no difficulty getting a drink from the bar.

The service was very good and friendly. I didn't hear anyone complaining. There was a nice atmosphere about this pub. It was well worth the long walk from the parking garage.
