“Best Fried Chicken”
Reviewed March 21, 2013 via mobile

Lots to choose on the menu, I love fried chicken and this sounded interesting and different. The two big crispy pieces come with a honey pepper sauce to drizzle on, and two bite sized biscuits were melt in your mouth. Delicious. Would definitely come back again.

“Lived up to the hype”
Reviewed March 20, 2013

Bar Americain was everything I hoped it would be and more. Our server Jana was very helpful in explaining the menu and pointing us in the right direction based on the information we gave her. The lobster and avacado app was to die for as was the shrimp and tomatillo. The Boston Bib salad with poached egg, bacon and blue cheese was one of the best I have ever had. The onion soup was no joke either. The 10 ounce filet was cooked to perfection and complimented with cauliflower and goat cheese gratin and creemed kale. Some kind of crazy prailine and vanilla ice cream dessert was the perfect ending to a great meal. Again, our server Jana was top notch!!!!

“Average”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

Went to three restaurants on our trip. This was the best of the three but still nothing to write home about. The atmosphere was appealing, the bar beautiful. Service was fine...there when we needed something but not super friendly. I will point out that the steak tar-tare was very, very good but all else was just kinda there.

“Surprised by the Average fFood”
Reviewed March 5, 2013

No experience I was going to take back to my friends and brag about. The decor, amazing and the bar top impressive and Apparently imported from France. The bartender very much fit the scene and was quite attentive even thought it really wasn't busy yet. We ordered "Fresh" Fried Oysters and the Steak Tar-tare, and a couple of glasses of wine each. As having been to Paris, I was not impressed and I question if it was a tenderloin cut and the Crostini was mostly burned and not just the edges. When we proceeded to the Oysters, the presentation was interesting and eye appealing until my spouse got a shell the size of a quarter in his mouth. Nothing broken, thank god but a bit sore on the teeth. After presenting it to the bartender, he commented...oh that's happened a few times. We're going to have to talk to the supplier about that, which leads me to believe, they were canned. I would possibly return as everyone has there days and you know Bobby's not back there, but with caution in ordering the oysters!

“Very Good!”
Reviewed March 5, 2013

We've been to Bar Americain several times and have been pleased with the consistently delicious food in a very pleasant atmosphere. We were there late on a Sunday afternoon. The Potato chips with Blue Cheese dip are great .Our meals were prompt and hot (Not a priority in some restaurants). Four different dinners. Four happy customers. Good work, Bobby Flay!
