“True traditional thin crust New York style pizza.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 31, 2013

I grew up not too far from the original Frank Pepe Pizzeria on Wooster street in New Haven and recently went to the Mohegan Sun Frank Pepe's and enjoyed the same outstanding pizza I had when I was a child in New Haven. I ordered a plain cheese and a sausage and bacon and shared it with my family from New Hampshire who claimed they had never had such a delicious pizza in their lives. We stuffed ourselve until we could eat no more and carried the leftovers arround in the casino, refusing to leave any behind.

“It's just pizza”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2013

Maybe it is because I am from Philadelphia, but Pepe's pizza is just average pizza. I can't figure out what all the hype is about. If you are from a place where your idea of pizza is opening a box and preheating the oven, then by all means go to Pepe's and get yourself real pizza.
For those of us fortunate to have enjoyed pizza in Naples, New York, New Jersey or Philadelphia...skip it. Certainly not worthy of 1,000 places to see before you die.

“Great pizza simple decor”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

Feel of old fashioned pizzeria. Good size pizzas. I like 18" large pies. Good pizza. Thin crust. Nice sauce. Staff was polite. Being not a full Resturant it is very open and noisy. Fun to watch them making the pizzas. Good prices.

If you are visiting or passing through New Haven, this is a must to visit. Pizza crisp and fresh. Nothing fancy but excellent pies. Son loves the clam pizza. try it!

“Wonderful pizza”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 13, 2013

The wood fired pizza is the best. If your looking for anymore than pizza or salad this is not your place. Would recommend to chicken and mozzeralla pizza, it's my favorite. Prices are reasonable but it can get quite busy on the weekends.
