“Great location”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

We enjoyed the atmosphere, and the food. I had the lobster roll and it was delicious. They had a watermelon drink special that was so refreshing. We had a wait but we just sat at the bar and waited no big deal. The servers and bartender were very friendly they had someone playing guitar. Lots of activity which I enjoyed. It looks like it does in Hope Springs, and we talked with the locals from the area, everyone was so open and friendly. Thanks for a great lunch.

“Disappointing food poor response”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

Ordered a fully priced order of wholebelly clams that were cooked in a large lump. Yuck! Not wanting to disrupt our party I contacted the restaurant after the fact and of course they wanted a receipt. Given that they don't allow split checks we paid with cash no receipt. It is the kind of experience that says "let's go somewhere else next time"!

“Bring your patience....”
Reviewed September 1, 2013 via mobile

Beautiful setting so we waited over 1/2 hour for a table on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend' so a long wait was not unexpected. Sat at 7:40. Appetizers were served at 8 or so. My daughter sent her chowder back twice because it was cold. Twice??? After waiting close to an hour for our entrees, we left. Stuffed clams were very tasty. Our waiter was not very attentive and had to be reminded to check on our food. It is hard to imagine how this operation makes money. They don't turn the tables fast enough. Also music was very loud and continued for another hour past its stated ending time. So only go if you have lots of time and don't mind putting up with this kind of crap.

“Good food, better view, big cajones!”
Reviewed August 25, 2013

The view speaks for itself. Beautiful harbor, boats and Outdoor atmospher. The service is pretty good too!
The food:
Tuna Portuguese style scallops, very red! Good amount of chorizo, generally pretty good.
Slicced Tuna salad dinner special. Excellent.
Seafood Alfredo. Creamy and really a good dish for a seafood Alfredo dish. L
Coquile st Jacques - is just another great mix of seafood and potatoes.

Everything was seasoned nicely, food was hot and served together, which is good for as busy as they were!

My only problems -

1. They have the cajones to put on there menu that for parties of more than 6, they automatically charge 20% gratuity!!!!!!!!! For starters this option is for parties of 8 or more! We were 6! Secondly the industry standard is 18%! And thirdly, you go out of your way to make that more clear than printing it at the bottom of the menu, and finally, that server had better come to you and tell you that you $300 check already has a tip included in it!

Luckily my sister caught that and we saved forking over an extra $45!

This tipping thing is out of control! Restaurants need to start paying their workers!

2. They don't take reservations for parties of less than 8.

For the high tip requirement for small parties and the normal size of the portions I only give it an average to good. For some it may be a better than good. 3.5 out of 5

“Million dollar view.”
Reviewed August 17, 2013

We ate on the deck on one of the most beautiful days of the summer. Ordered the whole fried clam appetizer. Light, nice portion, very clean clams with nice small bellies. The fish sandwich was wonderful and they substituted a fresh salad for the fries and cole slaw with no hassle. The 1 1/4 lobster special was a great bargain as it came with a cup of New England clam chowder and six mussels for under $25.00. The restaurant was busy but the staff was not flustered at all and always super friendly and professional even when some of the over privileged sailing crowd was demanding and stuck up. I would recommend this restaurant for families or couples who want good food and a million dollar view.
